Magos Korbathov

Lizko and Drako both cyber-snarl at the Stormtrooper but the Magos quickly commands them to step down. He starts to follow the stormtrooper, power armor whirring, after all worrying about petty insults like that was beneath him but he quickly realizes something. Korbathov was in an Inquisition cadre now, and was curious how his Inquisitor Commandant would react. He glances at the rest of his team and waits patiently.

I'm sure these fine people simply didn't know who they were instructed to escort. Put down the bolter, please. They are not our enemy here." Butts looks at the understandably alarmed stormtroopers and puts on his best calming down angry people voice, remembering dozens of times he had diffused similar situations amongst scared guardsmen. Gallia de Praetus

Well, fuck. Really?
Folkar Azereon

The inquisitor had spent a moment in the ship, giving the pilot directions on when to return and what to look for when he's called, while also delivering the suggestion that he not dawdle as much as he did on the way in. When he heard the commotion outside, he knew immediately who was at the center of it: Nukems.

Folkar shrugs his cloak back as he steps out of the lander, his swords and stake in their sheathes at his hips, and stops a moment to survey what's going on. Nukem had his gun raised, but was in the middle of lowering the weapon; the guardsmen were tense, and he wasn't surprised. He stands for a moment, his gaze steely and his jaw set. After a moment, he lets himself relax; further tension would make things worse.

"Nukems, at ease. Helmet on. We're on a planet with tense situations; these men are more for our protection than anything." He adjusts the sling under his arm for his plasma pistol and nods. "Let's go, then. I apologize for Nukem; he lives to serve, and he has served dutifully and with no concern for his own life. It is fortunate for the Imperium he was granted a second live to give in its name." He nods to the guards. "Commandant Folkar Azereon, and this is my squadron. Lead the way."

Through the combination of Nukems terrifying aggression, and Butts admirable attempts to defuse the situation, you folks have greatly succeeding in scaring the poo poo out of the poor soldiers, and confusing the ever loving poo poo out of them. By this time a large number of other guardsmen have noticed the commotion around the pad. Armed guardsmen. Who see a horrifying robot man screaming and pointing a heavy bolter at a stormtrooper officer. While Nukems is succeeding in terrifying the troops, you're not convincing them that they can't just vaporize your rear end through massive fire power. More and more guns are turning in the direction of your Cadre every second, and a number of soldiers can be seen to be speaking into their voxbeads.

When Butts presents his badge of office, the stormtrooper barely even glances at it, busy sub vocalizing a conversation with somebody on the other end of his own voxbead. When Dukems finally puts his guns away, they keep theirs up, still pointed at his head. After a moment, Folkar finally comes out of the ship, and likely saves you all from death-by-laser-light-show.

"Understood sir." It's not really apparant whether he's speaking to Folkar or the person on the other end of his vox, but the still visibly shaken stormtroopers turn around and start marching quickly away towards a fairly massive building at the end of the landing zone.
"Please keep up. We sometimes catch fire from Unuturo even here in Cxielomonto." They don't even bother to see if you're following them.

Upon reaching the monolithic temple, the squad of stormtroopers line up on either side of the door.

"Wait a moment sir, the Colonol will be right out in a moment."
Even as he's saying this, the door explodes outwards and an older gentleman wearing a very fancy uniform bursts out, face red and puffing.

"You *wheeze* idiots *wheeze* are dismissed." The stormtroopers veritably flee the area. Not much point in escaping a violent death-by-Dukems only to get murdered by your CO after all.

After a moment or two of catching his breath the man straightens up and offers his hand to Inquisitor Folkar."Names Col. Robert Lockyer. Apologies for the incident at the LZ. We didn't know our new guest was going to be another Inquisitor, otherwise we would have put together a proper escort. Folkar motions for the Colonel to lead the wall, falling in step with him.

"The region seems to be destabilized far beyond the reports I was given, Lockyer. How quickly did it deteriorate? What exactly is going on on this planet?" He glances back and motions for Gallia to catch up. "Take notes, Ms. de Praetus. And fill us in on the Mitternach;01 I know they're the current ruling dynasty and they aren't faring too well, but you make it sound like a planetary governor would be so incompetent as to try to exert his will over that of an Inquisitor's." Her auto-quill at the ready, Gallia furiously takes notes, for Folkar's benefit rather then her own. Magistrates of the de Praetus family were expected to have a perfect memory and Gallia was notdifferent. Knowing that military matters would be handled by her more martial compatriots, Gallia focuses on the political situation or what's left of it. She speaks to Colonel Lockyer,

"What is the political situation or what the remains of it? From the tone of your voice I can guess Mitternach is someone with whom you do not get along with. I take it he is of the opinion that his noble blood gives him the idea that his fiefdom is limitless? Will he have a problem submitting to his betters?"

Gallia simultaneously racks her brain for any scrap of information about the Mitternach family that she may have come across in her studies while talking to the man. But she can find nothing, her mind filled with infinitely more useful knowledge then the petty history of an insignificant noble family.

Want to see what I know about Matternach. I have no idea what skill to use. Scholastic Lore(Bureaucracy, Judgement) +20 (Legend, Heraldry) at base and Common Lore(All of them) at +20. Unnatural Intelligence gives me two additional DoS on a successful test

The men that oppose the Inquisitor Magdella have to have a place to sleep and resupply or the sheer amount of time the rebellion has lasted would have drawn them thin." He trails off slightly and then motions with his head towards Folkar, "In point of fact, they have caused enough of a problem as to draw forth a second of the Inquisition's number. They are skilled, intelligent or... at the very least Lucky, many rebellions are not..." He trails off with another shift of weight breathing a few long and thoughtful breaths before questioning, "Do they have a face or demands? A leader or even just a proxy by which they communicate to the masses? I mean, rebels must hide somewhere. The men that oppose the Inquisitor Magdella have to have a place to sleep and resupply or the sheer amount of time the rebellion has lasted would have drawn them thin." Solomon finishes his speaking with a final closing of his mouth and a few long breaths before resuming his thoughtless litany chanting.

Jerry

Jerry lowers his shield a bit now that its apparent they're not going to be blown to bits, well, for a little while longer anyways. "Sir? To add on to what the six million throne man said; other than the big loving bombs, what else has the opposition been throwing your way, and do you think this is homegrown stuff or outside agitation? Paralleling that, what are the other major and minor players that you've been forced to deal with other than our salubrious hosts here?"

”There is not simple one rebellion on this planet, but several. While theoretically opposed to one another, they seem to coordinate their attacks on occaision, usually when it's most disastrous to our operations. The big two are the Domitian Workers Liberation Army, and 'The Pure'. Both have their theoretical root in lower class discontent, and both want nothing more than the imprisonment or execution of the planetary governor, and all other hereditary nobles, and to replacement of the current regime with whoever it is they deem fit. Obviously their demands are unacceptable. Other than that, it's a bunch of local groups that support one of the larger armies, or are merely opposed to the current government and don't care who replaces it. The Mitternachs stewardship of Domitia left... much to be desired prior to the start of the war. So most of the manufactories that they've seized have been all to willing to pump out hardware for them. As far as soldiers and resources go, it's all homegrown. Luckily the none of the Admech factories have been able to produce anything. Nantors kept a good clamp on his subordinates, and they can't use those factories without Admech assistance. And you can't be too harsh on your fellow Inquisitor. Shes only been back in the field for a few weeks, and alot of her leads and resources went up flames when Unuturo was bombed. I'm honestly a bit shocked shes still alive.

NUKE DUKEMS
"Tell me everything about Unuturo Colonel Lockyer." Nuke says in his metallic voxspeak, his helmet on as ordered so he looks like any other stormtrooper except for the heavy weapons he's carrying and the mark of the ordo on his pistol/helmet.

”Unuturo? Besides being the former head of the planetery government, and the largest hive on the planet? Not much. It's in control of DWLA now, and they've been using it to launch artillery into what remains of our forces. Both of the major factions took advantage of the chaos following the bombing, and we've lost actual control of just about everything besides Duturo and Trituro, the other two hives you can see from here, and the land between them. Doesn't necessarily mean the enemy controls that territory.

By this time the Colonel had lead you down a long hallway, extravagantly decorated in the gaudy ecclesiarchal fashion and with several heavily fortified checkpoints, and onto a large elevator. As huge as it is, it's still cramped with you all on it. It descends for several minutes, taking you a great distance underground, likely to some sort of fortified bunker, although the walls are no less ornate down here than up above. The Colonel leads you through several more rooms, until finally pausing in front of one last door.
Well... Lets get this over with.

He opens the door onto a... party? A ball? A gala? Whatever the gently caress it is it isn't a 'war council'. Sharply dressed nobles and military officers fill the room, drinking from fluted crystal glasses.

In one of the far corners of the room stand a number of dour, unhappy looking priests, centered around one creepy rear end mother fucker.

Hoo yeah. Definitely a heretic. Or maybe hes just really loving creepy. With him is a servitor with what looks like a video screen bolted to its face. Weird.

"That's the latest Cardinal, Aerius Mordecai, and Nantors representative. Nantor himself cannot leave his shrine very easily these days, so he communicates via that servitor.

Slightly removed from that little cabal of buzzkills is the group you're looking for at the moment, seated on a raised stage overlooking in the back of the room. As Colonel Lockyer leads you there he points out each of the four major figures in turn.

"My superior, Lord General Carnwath." The lord General seems to be enjoying the conversation hes having with another grizzled old subordinate. Farther down the table is the Inquisitor you came to retrieve:

"You know lady Magdella already, I'm sure." The Inquisitor has a rather forced looking smile as she listens the man next to her:

"That's Mitternach. Still going at it, by the looks of it. Boys gonna end up gelded if he doesn't watch himself. Across from the two of them is another miserable looking woman, who appears to be in the process of committing suicide by alcohol poisoning:

"And that's the Rogue Trader, Ophelia Quint."

So, how do you approach this meeting?

The feral assassin is certainly out of her element here. Though she doesn't feel it, she has been told that her mere existence as a Teferi makes others naturally spiteful around her, and her past experiences have shown that to be widely true. She leans in towards the Inquisitor and whispers, "I think I'll stay by the door, unless you'd like me closer, sir."

Talky stuff is WAY out of my league, so I'll hang back so as to shoot mans if like rebels attack the party, unless Dyne wants his living psyker repellent near by, then I'll stick on him and keep my mouth shut.

Magos Korbathov

The Magos looks at the gala with disgust, such indulgences of the flesh were beneath him in the eyes of the Omnissiah. At least in a real war council he could focus on the technologis of holo tables or programming his cyber mastiffs for war. But this?

He scans around as the Colonel talks about the important people of the event. No doubt the more "people-person" of his Inquisition cadre would have a good time here. The only thing that catches Korbathov's attention is when he spots the Ophelia Quint's right cybernetic hand. Knowing the legends of the superb craftsmanship the Rogue Traders could acquire, no doubt it would be something at least interesting to analyze.

Accompanied always by his two cyber mastiffs, he walks toward her in his whirring power armor. The suit making relatively loud noises with each step. He opens his vocalyzer and talks in a monotone voice. "++ROGUE TRADER OPHELIA QUINT. I AM MAGOS KORBATHOV. YOUR RIGHT HAND BRINGS SUBRIQUE-PATTERNS GRAPPLEHAWKS TO MIND. MAY I ANALYZE THE QUALITY OF ITS CRAFTSMANSHIP FOR THE SAKE OF PURE CURIOSITY?++"

That warm and fuzzy feeling.
Jerry

Jerry listens in as the Colonel fills him in on the situation, and betrays only a slight amount of open disgust upon meeting all the others. The rebels' ideas about murdering almost every single person here don't seem quite all that bad at the moment. His eyes immediately scan the room and lock on about the only person there that probably does anything productive with the power given to them.

Jerry squints as the magos does his little thing and hopes the claw he's grasping for isn't her pistol hand. He removes his helmet. "Lord-Captain Quint of the Big Stick? Gerald Daniels, a pleasure to finally meet you." Jerry isn't quite sure on the etiquette of greeting another person while some autistic mechancius weirdo fondles them. "I don't believe we've met before but I've had the privilege of murdering a bunch of feral orks near that colony you landed on Pontificus III." He produces a fancy, gold-banded cigar from his pocket. "Lho?"
