Luke Magnotta. One of the grisliest killers in a long time, kills Chinese student, dismembers the corpse and sends out the limbs to various Canadian political parties. Guys like this, at least in the past, tend to escalate so it was amazing, and fortunate, that he was caught relatively soon after his first murder.

I think someone mentioned in the previous thread that he was a goon. True or not, it lead me to wonder if there were any other killers who frequented the forums.

I think there was a thread where a goon was saying his mother was in contact/mailing letters with some criminal and it turned out to be this guy. This was soon after he got caught so it's possible that it was all a troll but it did weirdly make him a little more 'real'.

Yeah, my point is the anywhere part. If the observable universe is about 100 billion ly across, then the likelihood of it happening anywhere near us is pretty low. It would have to start within something like 10 000 ly radius for us to give a crap.

Yeah. For all we know, it could be happening right now very, very far away.

Probably not as blatantly as they would some member of Joe Public but I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to pull strings and have people effectively shut out of their industry, by telling members they have to refuse to work with these people or whatever.

I doubt they'd mess with Katie Holmes for fear of losing Tom Cruise. Unless she really raised a stink somehow but I think she knows enough not to stick her dick into that hornets nest. I'm sure they'd gently caress with Leah Remini though and probably subtly have.

I could almost see someone being approved for euthanasia because of depression, but drat that'd have to be some child molester war criminal of the year poo poo that would make a panel of top psychiatrists shake their heads and say "I wouldn't want to live with that either, youre basically Hitler", but if your life is that hosed up then you may as well try something radical like electroshock or some MK ULTRA drugs until you can't remember poo poo.

So you should try "doped to the gills" first. It's not that some people need drugs to cope, it's that everyone requires a certain type and level of drugs to cope, for many people that's "none", but for some it's "way more than they're taking right now".

And if that doesn't work there's the Euthinasia Coaster.

Unfortunately "doped to the gills" is expensive. I wish I could afford it though.

Ok, not a Wikipedia article but this counts as creepy to me even though I'm sure there is a plausible explanation. Sorry, the source is the NY Daily News so take it with a grain of salt.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/great-white-shark-possibly-eaten-larger-mystery-animal-article-1.1821781

quote:

Scientists are baffled after they discovered that 8-foot long great white shark has been eaten by even bigger "mystery sea monster."

Researchers have no idea what animal could be responsible for killing and eating the shark.
The only theory they have so far come up with is that was attacked by a "colossal cannibal white shark."
Researchers had tagged the healthy shark to track its movements.
But the tracking device washed up on an Australian beach four months later.
Data shows there was a rapid temperature rise along with a sudden 2,000-foot plunge, That, scientists believe, proves it eaten by something much bigger, saying the records indicate the shark went inside another animals's digestive system.
The case will be documented in an upcoming ABC documentary, reports news com.au.

What does gas smell like in the US?
The aroma compound they add to it here has a really peculiar smell that's hard to mistake for anything else. A bit like gasoline I'd say? Not even remotely organic.

Well, it's hard to describe a smell but it just smells like "gas". Nothing else really smells like it. Gas that comes into the home smells different than gas you put in your car so I'm assuming it's two different additives but in the end the gas smell is pretty unique. It's interesting. I never thought that the odor they add to gas might be different in different countries. I wonder if it was ever standardized.

VVV Fair enough.

Is the Rotten Library image-free? This sounds interesting, but I'm terrified to click the link at work. Or anywhere.

I just checked it out and randomly clicked on some articles. There are images but I haven't seen anything gross. The entry for sodomy is definitely NWS. Ruby Ridge had some pics that look like they could be from a news report. Checking out Internment Camps had one disturbing pic but kinda what you'd expect for the topic. I'm guessing that you could happen upon something disturbing but most articles are text only it seems. They're definitely not going out of their way to be gross.

I'm assuming he was the guy who recorded the audio of everything. Of everything I've seen on the internet the video of the recording outside the courtroom as they played back the tapes was literally the worst thing I've encountered. Maybe the degrees of separation made it worse but I dunno.
