Do you think there is any chance of Falcon BMS getting VR support? It's hard for me to go back to simming on a monitor after DCSing on the rift.

God, I love the Gazelle. I know there are rumbles of it "not being accurate" but whatever. That little helicopter is an absolute dream to fly. My favorite A/A engagement came on the 104th server. I spent an hour snooping and pooping in the A/A Gazelle. I dropped off a SAM Team on one hilltop and hung out behind another. Two F-15s came roaring past, I pinged one with my heater and the SAM team got the other.

I've been learning the F/A 18 the past few days. The Aim-9X and HMD are dirty.

I got the Viggen a while back before this was possible. This new feature is new (and exciting) to me.

The CH pedals are clunky and their internals aren't terribly precise (it's hella old tech), which are the reasons why I recently dumped them for a set of MFG Crosswinds. My CH's still work as well now as they did when I bought them in 2007, so I can't say enough good things about their durability. They're just clunky and imprecise.

E: this goes for CH products in general. I love them for the time in which I bought them, and I don't doubt they'd last another 5-10 years if I needed them to, but drat, going from those to MFG and VKB poo poo was night and loving day.

I have CH Pedals and the Fighterstick. I lust after more precises peripherals.

Planes to include F-18, AV-8, F-14B, and possibly SU-33. It'll be carrier poo poo solely. It'll be fairly easy strike on an airbase, with some minor suppression of enemy air defences to start out with. Skill requirement: to be able to take off from carrier.

The Harriers will do the strike itself, with hornets tasked for SEAD and DEAD, and F-14s are for escort.

I guess I'll fly an F-18 or the F-14. Agggh decisions are hard!!

To give a little more info about Mirage MLWS. Chuck has a decent guide on the Mirage. Here is the relevant slide for the MLWS.

https://www.mudspike.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/DCS-Mirage-2000C-Guide.pdf

The switch position looks off in his slide. You want it in the middle position for it to be on. There are lights that illuminate under the RWR display that show the various counter measures and defensive sensors online. You want the one under D2M to be illuminated.

It is quite effective. It gives a high pitch trilling sound and shows a line along the azimuth of the detected missile launch. It detects really any missile and was going off when a hornet was launching HARMs the other night beside me.

I'll throw in a plug for the Mirage or F-18. Mirage is just a joy to fly. Its systems are complex without being overly burdensome to learn. It's the plane I consistently come back to when I want something fun to fly.

If you are only thinking of buying one plane, the F-18 is the one to get. You can do absolutely everything in it. It's easy to learn but the systems are complex enough to keep you busy learning.

For your reading pleasure, have a look at Chuck's guides on each. These guides are a little more accessible than the customary 500 page manual which accompanies each plane. They will also give you a feel for what and how each plane does a task. There is no Chuck's guide for the F-14 however because loliran.
