Charlotte Nixon

"Losing it? Like, as in, you haven't lost it already?" Charlotte asks only half sarcastically. "Nixon. Charlotte. And we aren't in any psychotic break like I've ever been in."

She continues to push and drag the keystone cop around by his mechanism. Without regards to the braindead patrons and employees, she leads the two lawmen to a projection booth for some privacy.

"For now, Devereaux, we're going to try to get some answers out of Robocop. You done this before? Help me tie him down." Charlotte puts down her loot bag to free her hands for securing the clockwork officer to a chair or a pole or any sturdy furniture. "Well, you've got the questions, Devereaux. Shoot." And she lets go of the key.

Ainsleigh Chase

Right on the heels of Ainsleigh's realisation that she may be trapped comes the familiar sensation of momentum building inside her--the feeling that she needs to run, to stay ahead of something bearing down on her from behind. She shifts her weight on her feet uneasily. "What--" She clears her throat. "What kind of 'something else'?"

Kales Devereaux

Kales shoots a confused gaze at Charlotte, but as the clockwork officer comes back to life he snaps back to his wits or what was left of them.

"What are you?" Kales asks, and then before the clockwork man could respond, Kales asks another question. "Where were you taking me?"

((Rolling 3 Discipline dice and 3 Madness dice to outrun the nun, in case it's needed. Discipline: 1, 6, 6 Madness: 6, 5, 1))

Jeremy Calhart

Father Calhart looks at the hooked cross. He never noticed up until now, but the cross... it's an instrument of torture, isn't it? A way to kill someone slowly and painfully; and yet it's the symbol of his religion. What does that say about...?

But his thoughts are interrupted when he realizes what does his hostess have in store for him: his eyes go wide with realization and he starts mouthing "No no no no no no no..."
He runs like a madman towards one of the southern corridor, the one opposite where he is now; the instinct of a prey telling him to put as much distance as possible between him and the predator. His heart pounding, his lungs devouring air, adrenalyne coursing through his veins like it hasn't since he was a boy, he dodges into a descending stairwell, barely noticing the stink of sulfur as he's descending the stairs three at a time.
He stops when he notices that there isn't much light anymore- or rather there is, but it's even deeper down, after the stairs take a turn; he knows, with the odd clarity of dreams, that whatever is down there is going to be horrible to see. But will it be worse than taking Christ's place on a cross?
He looks up the stairs, hoping that the nun hasn't followed him.

The cop is none too happy at his predicament, despite what his face may display - as his key whirs to life he struggles against his bonds, but he realizes quickly that you have him tied up good.

“I’m the clockwork officer assigned to this area, and I was taking you to District Thirteen,” he replies none-too-happily. “It is where we deal with Awakes like you in the Mad City.”

Even though he answered obediently, you can see him scanning the booth for ways out.

Hugo Kovacs

“I was just trying to provide you aid,” the officer says, his face still frozen in a smile. “If you are going to refuse to report to District Thirteen, however, I have no choice but to bring you in.”

The officer reaches out his hands and steps towards you, trying to grab you by the wrists.

((Rolling two pain dice.))

“Enlightenment, perhaps,” is the reply. Your escort steps forward, forcing you to take a step forward, too. She points at the crosses from over your shoulder. “Have you ever wondered what He felt upon the cross? Imagine what that experience must be like. A closeness to the divine that most could never imagine.”

She’s interrupted by the man who has just entered the room sprinting across it, aiming for one of the hallways across from him. His nun races after him, moving faster than you believed someone in a habit could run. Your nun doesn’t hesitate to shove her way past you and chase him, too. You’re left alone in the room.

(5, 1, 6, 6, 5, 3. http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4550959/. We tied with 2 successes, so you succeed. However, since 6, 6, 5 is greater than 6, 6, 1, pain dominates. I get a second coin of despair, and the outcome is gonna be quite stressful for you.)

You make a break for it, and even though your nun seems to react immediately, you somehow manage to stay ahead of her and slip down the maze of a hallway. When you reach the staircase you think you see the outline of two nuns at the top watching you descend, but they don’t follow - whether because they can’t, or don’t want to.

At the base of the stairs is a door, the handle hot to the touch. Seeing no other way to go, you open it and step into a dimly lit room. The walls and floor are made of stone, and the only light comes from a few torches lining the wall. It’s about the size of a hotel lobby, and it’s rather crowded, too. Maybe two dozen people are scattered around - all of them look lost and confused. About a third of them are congregated around the center of the room, where a well is located. They’re staring into the well.

“Well, you’re a new face. And a man of the cloth, too,” you hear someone say. You turn around to find a being made of worms. It’s as if thousands of worms decided to form themselves into the vague shape of a human male, working in tandem to writhe in such a way as to simulate limb, eye, and mouth movement. It reaches out a hand to you and introduces itself. “I am Migdanah, and this is my domain. We don’t typically get willing visitors. What brings you here?”

Charlotte Nixon

"Start making sense, Deputy Dickweed!" Charlotte needlessly slaps the clockwork officer upside the head while screaming directly into his face. She's taking to the bad cop role very well.

"Do my partner and I look like we're from around here? Think anything you're saying makes sense to us? loving rear end in a top hat. gently caress's the matter with everyone in this bullshit LSDisneyland fantasy fuckhouse? Mad City... what a crock of poo poo. Madness got no law. Mild City, more like."

Charlotte backs off the officer to stand intimidatingly in the shadows and to allow Kales to ask some actually constructive questions.

Kales Devereaux

Normally, Kales would probably have something to say about violence in an interrogation. He had seen it before, but definitely not like this. He hadn't seen anything quite like this.

The woman slaps the clockwork man around and gives him a sharp tongue lashing that helps to build up courage in the near slack-jawed officer.

Following Charlotte's lead, Kales seizes up the officer by his garb and hovers his face directly above the mechanical one.

"So we are Awake. I guess that's kind of self-explanatory in a way that both does and doesn't make sense... So what do you do to the Awakened at this District 13? Who's in charge? How do we get out of the Mad City?"

Since he is restrained can I pat him down for valuables, useful items, weapons? Then I want to knock him out if Charlotte has no other questions(if that is even possible)

Ainsleigh Chase

Seeing the nun blocking her path, Ainsleigh feels a tremendous wave of fatigue wash over her. For a moment she considers meekly taking the nun's hand and following her to whatever awaits her in the bowels of the church.

The sight of the older man fleeing one of the faceless nuns jerks her back to reality (or whatever passes for it here). She's alone, she could try to escape…but could she even find her way back outside from here? And the man she saw is the most normal-looking person she's seen since she left her office - perhaps they could even help each other. She follows him and the nuns, and as she does so she lets go, surrenders to her madness, and starts to run, looking to charge into the nuns and bring them down.

Rolling! 3 Discipline, 3 Madness and adding 1 Exhaustion, in order: 4, 2, 6, 4, 1, 1, 3. 4 successes, Discipline is strongest.
