I'll get some video with and without the silencer tomorrow. I'll probably just bite the bullet and buy all the remaining parts for the swap this weekend. I should probably clean the interior at some point too.

Got the tires sorted, the passenger side is riding higher for some reason. Might be from sitting on a flat for a week I dunno. My camera-person will be home shortly so we'll do some exhaust vids.

Is it just the microphone or does it really have that much trouble revving? When you (or camera man?) said "Rev the poo poo out of it", it sounded like it slowly built up to like 2500rpm. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my flywheel...

Someone hacked one of those ebay specials on to my BMW E34 before I bought it. It sounded like a semi truck full of tubas trapped in the vortex of a tornado. The noise was making me crazy but I have to admit I kind of miss the noises it made when I engine braked.

Of course I want to. The cluster should be here monday, gonna tear the old one out and replace the wiper stalk while I'm at it to see if that solves the problem. I'll tackle the clutch switch as well and that should take care of all the issues with the car and I can get crazy with the stupidity.

I went out to clean up the garage. The new door started taunting me. So I pulled apart the inside of the bashed door. The lock switch was broken and the latch was stuck. Test hanging Testing closure Looks pretty drat straight. Just the small dent at the bottom corner. Installed mirror and interior What I didn't take pictures of: Epoxied the charcoal lock switch back together. Left it to dry. Swapped out the locks. Found one of the retaining bolts on the outer handle had cracked. Had to swap over the original handle. This took quite some time as there was a locking washery thing that confounded me. Ended up swapping the lock twice because of this. Had to bend a metal tab a few times to get the latch lined up. Reconnected the speaker. May as well have music right? Getting the speaker pocket in correctly was a bitch. Swapped in the charcoal latch assembly. Hassle free installation. Works perfectly. Attached the window crank and snap ring. The damage to the original toothed post is quite bad, the crank won't stay on. I pulled the other assembly out of the teal door (holy poo poo was a pain) thinking it would be swapable. I'm not thinking I'll hack both of them off and have a friend weld the clean one to the post. Thoughts? Gonna run the white hood back for the return on Sunday and to get the core on the teal door. That'll be $35 back in my pocket. So now the door opens and closes cleanly, the interior fully matches and the same key opens all locks. Spent about two hours total on the car and an hour cleaning up the mess from the last week. Car is good to drive, taking it to Cars & Coffee tomorrow for shits and giggles. Edit: Local dude is selling these 15"s. Powder coated aluminum. He's relisted them twice asking $250. Could probably get them for less. Rhyno fucked around with this message at 07:09 on Jun 7, 2014 |

If nothing else, those will be an upgrade over the stock 13" wheels... in that you'll actually be able to find tires, anyway.

~~memories~~ I had a teal 1992 hatch with a problematic passenger window. If the door was shut with the window down it would clatter to the bottom of the door every time. As far as your window crank goes try to find a piece of steel to use as a sleeve, some conduit or pipe. If you just butt weld a round rod it will never ever be straight and will break with use.

Those are literally the cheapest wheels for your car on Tirerack. I'd wait until something not American Racing comes up. It's not like you have an uncommon bolt pattern. But hey, they'd match your one door!

Just get a junkyard regulator. They're usually impossible to weld to. Also, is there a Honda Facebook group where you're at? The kiddies on the local one usually unload things astronomically cheap. Except for whole cars. I got a real tial wastegate on a Honda cast manifold for $80. Speaking of... I'll post pictures of the manifold. If it will work for you, just pay me shipping and it's yours.

From my experience of the local ricers, $90 eBay coilovers will take a poo poo load of abuse without yielding. You'll be bouncing all over the road and you might need to see an orthopedic specialist after a long drive but I haven't heard any catastrophic failures from the local cheapskates.

Today I attended a Euro car fest at the local university. There was a guy doing vinyl tutorials and he taught us how to wrap the hood of a car very quickly with so-so material. I did okay on my section, only one air bubble I couldn't get out. The Civic is definitely getting a wrap as a practice run for the other cars. Edit: This from the suspension kit just caught my eye quote:why bother replacing low quality bushing when you can Seriously, why wouldn't you? There's barely any difference in these kits, why the massive price change? http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-95-CIVIC...df41453&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-95-CIVIC...43efca4&vxp=mtr I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna go with one of these $190 kits + some no name struts. It'll still be way cheaper than Tokiko or Koni. But what color? Rhyno fucked around with this message at 00:29 on Jun 9, 2014 |

I started futzing with the dents on the hood, might not be worth fixing all of them.
