For a moment I thought we are going to get screenshots of shitposts exchanged between Chris Roberts and Derek Smart, too bad... whatever comes out of all this, I have this feeling it's going to get a lot uglier from here on onwards. If this path continues like that - which has me wonder who will crack first, Ben Lesnick or Lando?

So how does one maximize profit now? Do I sell my account, re-claim it a couple of weeks later with UK customer suppport, saying my little son sold it away without my consent, put out a complaint with the FTC for my money back and sell all the stuff on my account all over again individually?

Ben Lesnick and his wind-swaying belly - He ran runs a community forum for decades that was obsessing around every single little bit relating to Wing Commander, making it a quest to document every useless byte of news that was in any way exposed to Wing Commander - straight to researching what people were doing after having finished playing their roles in the interactive movie part of Wing Commander or even the movie Wing Commander itself - for decades. Some of the news featured would be well placed on TMZ, that's how close eyes were kept out. So browsing IMDB and Tabloids is perfectly fine when Ben Lesnick and his WC CIC crew was involved, researching Linked-in in relation to a Space Sim that people are going to spent 0.1 Billion on is suddenly a problem. Now that is Derek Smart. Maybe Ben Lesnick should contemplate about his own very roots in nerdspace and eat his own advise before trying to be smug about suddenly wielding the power of knowledge from the inside and selectively forgetting about his sucking up to developers from the outside. Which brings me to that poor gently caress from Void Alpha, you remember that Mexican sweatshop that was initially working for cheap. The community was quick in blasting down one of those people writing about their awesome happy family working conditions, praising the social integrity of people like Ben and Eric (who continued the tradition to run a sweatshop of voluntary teenager helpers). I am excited to see how they explain away Jenny Varner, who is now rumored to have been fired. Awesome! Same for Lance Powell, also fired. Yay! And the UK Character Art Team that simply quit, because it couldn't handle the bullshit that was dropped onto them, yeah but let's keep the Happy Family ruse running. sorla78 fucked around with this message at 19:36 on Jul 9, 2015 |

I wonder though, with all these recent rumors isn't there any real journalist willing to research if there's a story for an investigative report? Maybe now with Derek Smart it gets surreal enough to warrant a good look. There must be enough disgruntled employees around, that could make good unattributed sources.

To make it somewhat interesting, they should at least, expand the metrics and shown the average amount of developers (to trim the administrative overhead) that have worked on each project and the amount of man-hours that have been delivered on each single project (to strip away the non-essential project tasks), right next to the amount of cash burn, then put Star Citizen up to it. True that, I was never saying the few metrics would be enough for a sound basis of comparison but at least that chart would be a bit more interesting. Based on your background and expertise and taking into account the outsider perspective, what do you think where the technical challenges reside that CIG might encounter and has to overcome? Also, lacking the experience in Programming myself to have an educated opinion - but I am also wondering how their current progress on expanding/implementing additional capability into the CryEngine (such as 64bit precision) compares, are people with the relevant background actually impressed about the progress or are there unexplainable delays?

Hi Derek 1) I was just wondering, do you have any information on some of the reasons why employees were let go? I understood that the Supervisory Art Director Lance Powell and Jenny Varner from the Community Team got recently fired. I also wondered why Martin Galway was gone so quickly as Audio Director. 2) Also, if Chris Roberts would offer you an executive role on his team, would you take it and help in getting this production back on track? If yes, what would be your first action in that role? 3) Last Question, when looking at the Ship Status List, what do you personally think how long it would take to implement all these ships? 4) Also do you have any further information on the relationship between CIG and Crytek? 5) Last Question is "Smart" your real last name or is this a stage name? Cheers & thanks for popping in and spreading some facts. sorla78 fucked around with this message at 20:11 on Jul 12, 2015 |

When reviewing some of the house of cards that have collapsed over years, it seems that one of the beloved corporate instruments used to fill Senior Management pockets is the corporate loan to a said employee with low interest to no-interest and eternal maturities. (let's take Mark Karpeles as a recent example), would any kickstarter/crowdfunding project actually be able to use these instruments in view of the recent FTC case ruling? Is there any regulation that restricts that kind of practice?
