Without spoilering most of the plot, the protagonist is explicitly groomed to be the perfect soldier just as Solid Snake, the protagonist of the previous games, and a lot of details, especially the most bizarre ones, highlight that.

The coding for that was done solely for that one instance. The prologue Tanker chapter is filled with that stuff because it was made to showcase the game on expos and in the demo.
