I recently came to own a huge collection of ps2 era RPGs. They came with a slim model that I am pretty sure is in the process of having its optical drive break. I have no idea how many hours it was played. I had a 2004 or 2005 era ps2 slim that I played a total of four games on over seven years- ffx, dq7, dq8 and ff12, and in the middle of ff12 the optical drive stopped working. They are still selling new ps2 slims on amazon for ~$130. Should I get one of those, look for a fat ps2, or is emulation good enough now that I should just try to get it working on my PC?
