UFC's Fight Pass is a really cool service that I think most people use to watch terrible prelim fights. I know Bundt Cake has been going through, watching all of a dude's fights and reporting back on improvements (Or lack thereof), but sometimes it's fun to just watch cool poo poo. Fight Pass doesn't currently have any kind of playlist feature which is dumb, but I put a few together that I think are pretty rad. Also, the good thing about Fight Pass is that you don't have to worry about a video getting taken down (I assume :ohdear:)

The Yves Edwards Collection - Yves "Thugjitsu Master" Edwards is a cool dude that's been fighting since before Michael McDonald was born, probably. Here are some of his more memorable moments.

  • vs Edson Berto, EliteXC Street Certified - This is one of my favorite finishes ever. I'm still not convinced that Yves obeys the laws of gravity if he doesn't feel like it.

  • vs Josh Thomson, UFC 49 - Another one of the most fantastic finishes in MMA, at least in terms of "holy hell how did that work?"

  • vs Jeremy Stephens, UFC on Fox - One of Yves' best displays of counter-striking. Such a beautiful KO.

  • vs Cody McKenzie, UFC Fight for the Troops - a drunk hobo gets belligerent in his quest for change and accosts Yves, who must use the jitsu part of Thugjitso to pacify the derelict.

  • vs Rafaello Oliveira, UFC Live 6 - Another good striking display out of Edwards, but it's also notable because Yamasaki lets a dude get murdered for not particular reason.

  • vs Rich Clementi, UFC 41 - Clementi ain't a bad grappler, but Yves had already faced Matt Serra and Caol Uno, so "No Love" was "No Threat". Edwards kickboxes him up a bit and then takes care of things in the third. Good fight.

  • vs Nick Gonzales, EliteXC Renegade - Yves was on a bit of a skid, having dropped 3 in a row to Joe Stevenson, Mike Brown and Jorge Masvidal, so here's a squash match. Gonzalez is an ok boxer, but his nonexistent ground game is no match for THUGJITSU.

  • vs Dokonjonosuke Mishima, PRIDE Bushido 7 - Do you like grappling? This is a pretty rad fight for that.

Splish-Splash, Blood Bath - JUST BLEED, BABY! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! :unsmigghh:

Other playlists in the coming days: Muy Muay Thai, Submission Magicians, The Bubba McDaniel Death Reel. Feel free to make suggests or make your own list of poo poo for us to watch!

Can anyone recommend some fights that have good corner audio options? I'd like to get some "BREATHE, BUDDY! FOOTSTOMPS, BABY!" from Serra or maybe "GO FORWARD, GO FIRST, GO FORWARD, GO FIRST" out of Gregovitch Jacksonski.

I just got fightpass a couple weeks ago and this was the first thing I looked for but I haven't found any fights I want to watch with audio or camera options.

I was watching through all the old UFCs in order before I got a subscription but now I can do it more conveniently so I might speed through it a little quicker. I'm up to and finished UFC 26 ULTIMATE FIELD OF DREAMS which was Kevin Randleman's first title defense against Pedro Rizzo after that fight got delayed when Randleman cracked his head backstage months earlier.

Here is a cool garbage fight from UFC 26 - Amaury Bitetti vs. Alex Andrade.

At this point in UFC history there was still a rule in effect that if you wore wrestling shoes you were not allowed to throw kicks. Andrade scores a knockdown in round 1 and follows it up with a kick to the head of Bitetti while he is down, earning his first warning from John McCarthy. The fight starts to go Andrade's way as he gets another knockdown and he is probably winning on the scorecards. Later in Round 1 Andrade throws a leg kick. McCarthy deducts a point, telling Andrade's corner "I'm not stupid, tell him to stop those kicks". Early in round 2 Andrade throws a head kick and is disqualified. Also :ortiz: on commentary.

vs Mike Lullo, UFC 123 - The first Barboza Leg Kick TKO

vs Terry Etim, UFC 142 - Probably one of the best head kick knockout.

Scott Smith is like the king of comebacks, also of sadness.

vs Pete Sell, TUF 4 Finale - From the Matt Brown School of Not Giving A gently caress About Liver Shots.

vs Benji Radach, Strikeforce: Shamrock vs Diaz - Both guys get dropped in the first, then Radach beats Smith up in the second. The third has more of Radach hurting Smith, until Scott obliterates Benji.

vs Cung Le, Strikeforce: Evolution - Cung Le basically kicks Scott around the entire fight. Scott gets dropped twice in the first round, once in the second, and then destroys Cung's nose in the third.

Watch both Weidman Silva fights. Ray Longo gets absolutely overjoyed watching Silva's leg break horribly.

Also, Miesha Ronda 2. Ronda's corner is unfortunately dominated by some dumbass Armenian guy who thinks Ronda is some elite striker, but on the ground you can hear Rener Gracie going nuts about everything and its fun.

American hero Stephan Bonnar gets his grudge match against the villain from Here Comes The Boom. Renan Barao vs Eddie Wineland - UFC 165

Jose Aldo vs Cub Swanson - WEC 41

Don Frye vs Yoshihiro Takayama, PRIDE 21 - If you haven't seen this fight, hell, if you have, you need to watch this at least once a month.

Dan Severn vs Ken Shamrock, UFC 9 - Words don't do this vicious ballet justice. Two high-level rear end kickers pulling out all the stops.

I think the suplex, especially the German, is one of the key things that can unite all of PSP (except for the boxing dudes, unless Bernard Hopkins decides to become an even dirtier fighter), so here are some fights featuring BIG TIME THROWS

Kevin Randleman vs Fedor Emelianenko, PRIDE Critical Countdown 2004 - The kind of dangerous German that can only be found in Japan (Or I guess your average backyard indy wrestling fed). This probably helped add to that terrible bleep-blorp, fedor is an unfeeling russian cyborg stuff.

Dan Severn vs Anthony Macias, UFC 4 - Dan Severn and his mustache throw around a dude he outweighs by like 70 pounds because the early UFCs were AWESOME.

Rustam Khabilov vs Vinc Pichel, TUF 16 Finale - Hobby Lobby's debut, and GAT DAM if it wasn't spectacular.

Rory MacDonald vs Nate Diaz, UFC 129 - Look, Rory's a weirdo, but he's fighting a Diaz, so it's kind of a wash, right? Besides, he basically suplexed Nate back down to lightweight, which is best for all involved.

I haven't seen that fight in a while so I don't remember the specifics but if you motion the guy up or step away and disengage the ref will stand the guy up, and he's allowed to get up without you attacking

He did nahhhhht.

Oh hi, Greg.
Can someone please put together a list of awesome grappling (slick transitions, two guys just rolling around like monkeys, or one dude dancing all over the other) matches? Less interested in huge slams and more interested in the kind of stuff that one dude who isn't in the UFC does... what's his name, the guy who went to OneFC recently.

The dude you're thinking of is Ben Askren, and I can't make a list but off the top of my head but watch Demian Maia vs Jason Macdonald. Best grappling match I can recall happening in the UFC. Heck, All of Maia's early UFC fights are good if you want a pure BJJ styling.

Stephan Bonnar vs Kyle Kingsbury, UFC 139 - Bonnar styles all over Kingsbury and the dumb fans boo because they are stupid idiots.

Genki Sudo vs Leigh Remedios, UFC 38 - Genki Sudo has a fun as hell grappling game, and this this is probably one of the slickest RNCs.

David Mitchell vs TJ Waldburger, UFN 22 - This fight probably has the most submission attempts. It's fun and scrambley.

Alan Belcher vs Rouismar Palhares, UFC Fight Night - Everyone talks about how devastating Paul Harris is at leg locks. Alan Belcher shuts that poo poo DOWN.

Just a few to get started. I know there are a lot I'm forgetting, but my brain ain't working too hot at the moment.

Yeah, I know who some of the better pure grapplers are but the problem is of course, their fights don't always highlight their talents! Thanks for the tip. I've only watched one or two Maia fights - I remember his choke/crank on Rick Story being pretty awesome - but I feel like he's one of those fighters who everyone "knows" is the best BJJ guy out there but I haven't seen his best MMA BJJ. You know what I mean?

My favorite thing to see a grappler do is spin on their stomach on a turtled opponent. There's something about watching one guy "ride" another guy like that. Makes me feel funny. Our dumb gay sport indeed. Guard passes - like the ones GSP is famous for - are also awesome. I'm trying to develop an eye for all the tiny little subtle things that make grappling "work", i.e. like if your center of gravity is an inch over to the left or right all of a sudden you have total dominance. I like the Gracie breakdowns for this. Rogan is terrible in many ways, one of which is that he glosses over a lot of great grappling wisdom he could be sharing because it doesn't fit the pre-formed narrative he's desperately clinging to. I just watched a fight earlier today where he was screaming about how deep an RNC was, when it was very visibly across the front of the dude's chin. I would have appreciated an explanation of how the dude was able to keep his chin under the attacker's forearm but Joe was fully committed to selling a lie.

I rewatched the WEC 53 fight between Pettis and Bendo last night, first time I've watched it in years. Had a lot more fun grappling than I remembered.
