I just realized, Tatsumi is a minor victim of "stupid attack name syndrome". Riptide Whirlpool and Wave Whirlpool are dumb names. Eligor and Endrbyt get the worst of it with the Beta bases, though. "Counter Counter" and "Forceful Force", respectively.

Is Wave just bad in this matchup or bad in general? I gotta say I'm not digging something with a minimum range of 3 on a character that doesn't move around a whole ton, and a board state where the opponent is at least 3 squares away is the last time Tatsumi wants to Push someone. The push is optional, so you can use it when it's most relevant. It also sets Juto up for Fearless, Riptide, or Empathic. Tatsumi has the tools to be a distance fighter as well as a close fighter, whichever is more convenient to the board state. Which is helpful, given her relative lack of movement options.
