Rex Hudler just advocated bunting with two strikes with no one on because...I think because breaking balls are hard to hit?

Jesus Happ.

Do you think, somewhere, there exists a pitcher who can throw strikes.

Reds' ballpark organist playing "If you're Happy and you know it" Oh, you.

# ? Jun 21, 2014 21:34 |

36 pitches, three runs on one hit with four walks. Auspicious beginning.

I have no idea why, but it seems like any ad for Edward Jones will cause the MLB app on my phone to lose wi-fi reception while watching games

Stuck with Vargas for a batter too long. Or a few.
|
# ? Jun 21, 2014 21:39 |

Losing another close one at home at the end is probably the end of "baseball fever" for a little while.

# ? Jun 21, 2014 21:40 |

Attaboy, Ackley. The long road from complete poo poo to mediocrity begins with one potentially game winning RBI.

The Mariners own but I wish we didn't have to squish the dreams of the Royals

OK - it's the second game in a row that I've noticed it. Does Justin Smoak now always go over and pretend to ask Rodney what he's shooting an arrow at or something like that? Edit - now reading that some Rays players used to "watch" the arrow with him. I assume Smoak is just doing something similar. Tony Phillips fucked around with this message at 21:57 on Jun 21, 2014 |

And Happ just has to eat it because they used the whole bullpen last night.
|
# ? Jun 21, 2014 22:34 |
Hamels/ Wainwright has certainly lived up to the billing so far. Pitchers are a combined 3/4, even! I like that the Phillies added the Liberty Bells to their socks a few years ago, it's a nice detail.

Red Sox just caught a huge break.
|

Laughing pretty hard at this Sox/A's game. Ump blows the call on a caught foul-tip third strike that would have ended the inning, allowing the tying run to score two pitches later on a passed ball

Fire all umpires into the sun

# ? Jun 21, 2014 23:18 |

# ? Jun 21, 2014 23:18 |

yeah the Red Sox were super lucky there. I guess foul tips, like all ball-strike calls, are not reviewable?

# ? Jun 21, 2014 23:20 |

also you could clearly hear the fans cussing out the ump on the Oakland broadcast and it ruled

there was literally no reason to bring Hamels out for the eighth. Sandberg wants to kill his starters.
