Some buddies and I are heading down to Kansas City in a few days mostly to eat a bunch of BBQ and maybe check out the town a little bit. Does anyone have any good restaurant recommendations and maybe some good sights to see?

Do Oklahoma Joes (get in line early, at least a half hour before they open), and do LC's for burnt ends. There are lots of others out there, and most of them are decent, but those two are by far the best. I also enjoyed Haus and Grunauer for German beers and whatnot. Further enjoyed Nica's which is at 320 Southwest Blvd. Really awesome cajun food, bourbon selection, and beignets.

For stuff to see, the WWII memorial and museum is nifty, and I also enjoyed the Negro League Baseball Museum; there is a jazz museum attached to it that was ok, but hearing a live performance at one of the nearby jazz bars is much more fun.
