I was (and still am) at work, so I haven't had a chance to investigate it. I hope it had some gameplay or design updates or something, but based off the last one it was probably just them interviewing themselves in front of a camera.

There's no VOD on their channel for it either, so either they didn't highlight it or they realized "oh poo poo, we've got nothing to stream!" and just pretended it never happened.

It's there. It's under their past broadcasts dated Feb 27. First 30 minutes is dead air countdown on the screen and they they talk about eldar and my brain just trails off. Also couldnt hold my attention because their mic was hosed up and it was hard to concentrate listening when you hear that interference.

So, they've fleshed out their Early Access plan by killing it entirely. The old module based founders program is going to instead be that you get into the closed beta based on the package you bought. The beta will be Dark Angels vs Word Bearers, with their 4 classes and 3 vehicles on a single "32+" player map. To some extent, it sort of makes sense that they do it that way, as it lets them focus on some core gameplay rather than a non-sensical tech demo type module progression. On the other hand, the feature backdown begins!

Just get some of those cling decals and move them around on your monitor. Also you can cover up any immersion-breaking environmental stuff with skulls. Mailbox-sized skulls, car-sized skulls, UFO-sized skulls. Find one of those YouTube videos of DoW audio, XCOM volume down, YouTube up. Sorted. e: don't use the decals that come with the minis. The water runs down the monitor which makes it tough to position then correctly.

At least Dark Millenium woulda been a feasible WoW clone. This... why do Games Workshop keep giving their license to people who literally don't know how to make the game? "We need an MMO! Lets give it to these guys who have never made one before and seem to have no idea about the most basic concerns of server-side games." Its going to be exciting to see whether in the next 2 years they release a budget version of Space Marine's multiplayer or it just implodes and never comes out.

A budget version of Space Marine would be at least fun, assuming it doesn't have Space Marine's asstastic netcode. Why is netcode still such an issue? Some have figured it out, there must be some off the shelf not poo poo solution available so why do people keep trying to roll their own and gently caress it up? Also GW keep giving licenses to lovely games companies because they can negotiate bigger cuts of the profits from them. They have a history of loving up who they deal with in relation to vidya games e.g. blizzard and warcraft.
