You've got guts! Come to my village, I'll buy you lunch.
I just finished season one. I enjoyed but I'm kind of disappointed by the overall direction the show took. The first episode felt like a bad dream, like nothing was quite real -- the villains kill people with big oversized canisters of gas, it emphasizes the super-saturated colors more than later episodes, there are hints that the utopia manuscript could literally tell the future, etc.

Then as the show progresses it all ends up being much more mundane, grounded, and ugly. The characterization and cinematography are great and generally make up for it, but I was hoping for The Invisibles and got "normal people vs. James Bond villains."

It's larger than life, sure, but by the end the surreal quality and most of the mystery is gone.
