That was a good fight cub sorta had to go to the head when Stephens was hurt to the body, because Stephens kept his hands down and was just protecting his body which is why he ate a shitload of clean shots to the head in those flurries. Hes just tough

that was a great fight and good card overall, but I had to doublecheck to see that all the main card fights went to a decision after all the cool things in the prelims. I don't think Cub is going to pose much of a threat against Aldo until the dreaded 4th & 5th round like every other featherweight against Aldo, but it will be nice for Cub to redeem himself after the first 8 second match between the two.

The first time Cub slammed Stephens's liver he followed with about 10 hard punches to the undefended brain area, and Stephens survived that. Obviously it's less a matter of Cub having the wrong strategy to finish Stephens, and more Stephens being really hard to finish no matter what he did. It's just that sometimes it seems like there are guys with iron-plated chins who just absorb head shots all night but show considerably less resistance to body shots, like it appears Matt Brown's face can take a zillion punches without effect but he's stunned by hard body shots in every other fight.
