Even though I grew up where I did and have dated every skin colour like that idiot Drake I am too white and far too less of a dork than that Hollywood idiot to have a Top 5. So here is my Top 3 For the currently alive rapper with cross-over appeal, who reached to highest highs in his career in terms of punchlines that made you go gently caress YEA WOAH: Wayne. Yes, slightly above Jay. For the dude who lived his life with principle, who as a rapper was the best marathon runner with few throwaways, dead or alive: Ka. Nipsey was also a middle class dude who turned town being upper class because it was more secure and didn't require selling out. Nipsey made his money off music and had slightly more net worth than Ka I think but gave more to charity. But as a rapper Ka wins. Ka is no less admirable as a philanthropist than Nipsy. Just in a different way. Nipsey had slightly more money to give away in productive ways. Ka gave money and stuff away but had less money because he was a firefighting captain instead of a ful-time rapper. Look up the interviews. loving ace dude. He apparently chose firefighting instead of teaching as a way to have a safe career because he couldn't think he could deal with kids, but firefighting was also a noble profession (also it pays more which I'm not saying he did it for that reason but I'm happy he had a paycheque I think most firefighters are okay with even if especially at the intro levels you are underpaid and have student loans that you need to pay bad mostly immediately since a lot don't graduate but switch into EMT and other things to get their CVs up if they enter college/uni with firefighting as a target, whereas good teachers are severely underpaid. I am also middle class (in socioeconomic terms) and will be in money terms in 5-10 years. And I really loving like it. I actually, now that I have enough (had to buy a lot of it with lines of credit and people pitching in), definitely kick myself for ever wanting 'the good life' and being jealous of the rich people I went to high school with. I feel like I have and will have a better life than a billionaire. I get to have a secure income, decide my own working conditions, attend fancy galas, get sent for conferences to fancy places, and eventually can buy a small yacht and/or Cessna and a cottage in a fancy place later on in my career. I can retire with a coat of arms and a knighthood if I was loving idiotic. But I don't have stupid money that corrupts me, and I have a job that helps people and makes me glad to face each day even if it will be a hard one, and people in society actually respect me, and I don't have to go to space as a tourist. For the currently living artist with cross-over appeal pumping out the highest quality material I get free-ish, who I am not expecting to fall off anytime soon, with throwaways a handful of cringe songs they openly regret: K Dot. I didn't sue them but I wrote a book that among other things flames them under a pen name and didn't name them but it would be super easy to know who was if you tried after you read the book. The regulator let my employer take me to court as unfit to practice to have an excuse to fire me, and they found me not not fit in a case with 3 judges [I am a member of the gentry in the UK after all] and years later the gave me an apology, sealed the case, and told my employer amongst others to gently caress off and stop referring people to court unless they double-sure it's Fair to Refer. Hospitals have stopped doing it as much after COVID, because it was costing them hundreds of thousands to hire locums for the doctors they fired or didn't extend contracts to for, and they explicitly admitted this to me although gave no paper trail, refusing to stop taking sick days. Well, they actually did leave a paper trail my lawyers dug up by requesting access to the redacted evidence used against me and which the judges used as a basis to tell the employer to gently caress off. I could have sued them but I was told by my lawyers they would take the issue on but I would expose myself to retribution from bitter former employers. I chose to write a book instead.
