I don't know who AWAR is but anything with Freddie Gibbs is worth a listen. His verse is some classic Gangsta Gibbs and he kills it.

IT'S YOUR BOY JESUS, MANE

There's some rappers I don't like because of their voice or their flows but usually I can see why others would like them. Big Sean seems like he has an idea how to rap, but the results make it seem like writes his lyrics as huge run-on sentences and he just kinda puts emphasis on certain words and calls it a day. Boring as gently caress and ruins any song he's on.

Freddie Gibbs is fuckin with some lame rear end white boys. Whatever that awar dude's got goin on behind the scenes, he needs to stick to that and give up rappin. His verses were garbage and that scruffy chin strap is laughable. That other white boy needs to put the fork down and eat healthier.

It does. It really does. I have 42 albums with 721 tracks on my iPhone. That's not including the 4 collab albums that are on here and anyone else's features. And that's not even my whole collection. A Gucci Mane for every moment.

Some tracks are the same due to mixtapes and whatnot, or some remixes, but otherwise Gucci still puts out fire on a regular basis.

you're right! all the stuff being released under his name are cobbled together scraps from the last few years when he wasn't in jail or hosed up out of his mind. i swear someone posted an article showing how his mixtapes are being made by a bunch of dudes with no involvement from him anymore by just grabbing whatever random verses they can and throwing them together. dude's essentially lil b at this point with worse quality control.

I really like both Gucci and Lil B. 6.5/11.3 gigs respectively.
Felix Brothers is pretty cool... but any Gucci song sounds pretty much the same as any other Gucci song from the same era. Lil B has way more variety, for better or worse.
Hoop Life definitely had some bangers if you're into Lil B's stuff.

How rock hard do you get when you get to hate on Gucci? I'm pretty sure the article said he talks to these guys every day to work on putting these mixtapes together. If you listened to the songs it's pretty obvious they aren't just taking random verses and putting them together on the same song.

I mean, they are taking verses that were recorded a while ago and not good enough to be on the previous Gucci tapes and mashing them together to form new Gucci songs. I don't think this is really even debatable? I mean there's obviously some selection process involved but no one is checking for this stuff except hardcore Gucci fans.

There's a bunch of songs on trap house 4 that have multiple verses that are clearly from the same recording session and meant to go together...unless you think he just used same flow and same specific topic on random recordings they're putting together. I don't really hear anything on TH4 that sounds like that, but his other stuff with tons of features I guess

Shredded Hen

There is some article on Noisey/vice (aka the most hated publication around these parts?) about how they put together Gucci releases while he is incarcerated.

IIRC it sounded like he is pretty involved with the curation/quality control process even from behind bars.

Given the sheer amount of output, there are good songs on every tape and plenty of bad ones. You gotta give the man/his team some credit. Comparing his output to Lil B is kinda unfair.
