There are many reasons to hate Macklemore, but his dependence on good production is not unique. All rappers are dependent on their production. The beats make the song. It's why lackluster rappers like Kanye can still have bomb rear end tracks. Personally there's only like 4 rappers that have sufficiently aesthetically pleasing voices + technical rapping that would keep me interested if their tracks had mediocre production. nedit: That new Ghost is slick as gently caress.

Kreation, Life, Cadallactica, Mind Control, Mo Better Cool, Satyrdays = Celebration, and Mt Olympus are all great tracks. And there's not really a dog on the entire album. My main complaint is that the mixing on the album version of Mt Olympus seems different than the youtube leak I heard. And I prefer the youtube leak.

I would love to hear more about Baby loving over Lil Wayne (and presumably other artists). I did not know that was an issue, I assumed Baby and Wayne were ok, given the large amount of references to such in Wayne's lyrics. There vocals sound a lil less crisp/passionate that I would have liked, and there is a small disconnect between oral aesthetics and production aesthetics. But overall drat this is a good track.
