I think Death Grips is trash, despite several of my friends trying to convince me otherwise.

oh and Hello https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV_astp3BjM

I just wanna say drat I've been sleeping on Kevin Gates. I found out about him via Cocaine Blunts post about his live show and I've had "Chasing Paper" stuck in my head all day.

Not sure if this 100% counts as R&B but seeing as we've been kinda speaking in loose terms I think it fits.
You guys might wanna check out Charles bradley he's got a great voice and puts a lot of emotion behind his songs.
Not sure exactly what his story was but I know he went through a lot of hardships even being beaten to an inch of his life by random teenagers.
One day he just went to an open mic and boom, career! I saw him live at bumbershoot and he was great.

Fun fact this next song has the same instrumental as Faith by Kendrick lamar off the Kendrick Lamar EP
(not sure who created/used it first)

Why do people keep on talking about who likes the music they don't like? isn't not liking it enough? you don't have to justify your feelings by listing off people you don't like that like the music you like, are you like getting what I'm saying?

So Nas is coming to my city to perform The Illmatic in full. Every instinct is telling me that it's a cynical way to gouge big money off backpackers and the entry-level crowd, but what are the odds that this is actually worth paying $100 for?

I would say it's worth going, I saw this show a few months ago and I had a good time. I don't think you should worry about the audience too much if you like nas it's worth it.

I've enjoyed both of Futures studio albums as well as the recent mixtapes (except I found 56 Nights redundant) are there any other mixtapes earlier in futures career that stand out that you guys would recommend?

An easy fix for TPAB would be if he didn't repeat any parts of the poem until the end and only said the new parts each song. Would kinda break context and force you to put it together in your head (at least on first listen).

Edit: I am also very excited for the new YG

Pusha T is decent, doesn't skip bars so he's fine but there's something missing. Don't know if it's his type of fans or if he needs to do something to elevate his show beyond just decent.

noz is cool but he's also super-bitter and seems to have fallen into kinda a trap of thinking street="authentic". he's also turned on a bunch of dudes hard who got well-known after he had originally championed them (kendrick, future to some extent, pretty much all the OF dudes). his year end singles lists are still pretty decent, and he's a good follow in general but dude seems to get almost no joy out of music at all sometimes.

yeah I think he's going through depression and I've noticed that too but he definitely still loves earl, last year he talked about how he thought earl, future and thugger were the best rappers on 2015.
However I don't think he doesn't like artists just cause he has some negative things to say about them, he wasn't so hot on Tpab but he still though "u" and "alright" were some of the best rap songs of the year. He's very critical so it gives off the impression that he takes artists for granted.
