Not sure how much live instrumentation he really uses (although he himself can play guitar and drums), but P.O.S. is great and has collaborated with Astronautalis, who is also from the Minneapolis scene.

Astronautalis is from Jacksonville, not that anybody cares. Duval county as a whole is notorious for being an ignorant violent place, but there's a great deal of conscious lyrical rap that's come out of the area. One of my favorite rappers from that "scene" was Tough Junkie.

Troy Ave ft Lloyd Banks - Your Style

Jeremiah / G-Unit - Dont Tell 'Em

Since I know everybody here loves NYC and especially G-Unit, I figure I'd draw attention to some of their recent activities. That Troy Ave track is pretty fire. I'm excited that Young Buck is back on more so than anybody else, but its cool to see Lloyd Banks back on too. I wouldn't be surprised if the G-Unit reunion goes as well as the Dipset reunion, but they seem to be pretty solid. We'll see.

I'm really excited for that new Ma$e project. I like that whole "i go dumb" west coast vibe thats dominating the radio, but they need to dilute that poo poo, they've reached critical mass at the "im stupid dumb" level. Every fuckin song is either produced by DJ Mustard or sounds like it was.

Case in point:

Robin Thicke's corny rear end is falling out of the limelight. His latest album only sold 25k in the US, and supposedly only sold 54 copies in Australia. That makes me really happy.

Also, meek mill violated parole. I would hate to be his cellmate, I'd go deaf. DOES HE HAVE A SONG WHERE HE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE HE'S SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS

Despite all the bucket hats, show was actually unbelievable somehow. I guess I'm a fan now?

You wouldn't think that some depressed kid with a tumblr rapping about nintendo games and iced tea would make for a pleasurable listening experience, but the beats are on point, and his newer material isn't as poorly executed. Its hard to believe that Kyoto has over 2 million views. I wouldnt have expected that when all of his videos were still in the five figure range, judging by his original mixtape.

Ja Rule is straight up rear end. Murder Inc. fell off harder than Christopher Reeves, and of course he blames 50 Cent for that. He claims in his new book that 50 Cent worked with the police to shut him and his affiliates down.

His only song I care for is "I'm real," lets be real though, J Lo could have subbed Ja Rule out with any other rapper and it would have been just as big of a hit.

YG - Bicken Back Bein Bool

Beter biper bicked ba batch bof bickled beppers. YG just dropped this video and its pretty.. krazy. Some San Andreas in real life type of poo poo.

Didn't Compton go bankrupt? Rappers are quick to defend themselves and claim merely to provide social commentary, rather than glorify and advertise thug/trap living. I wonder if YG gives back to his neighborhood/city. He sure loves to rap about where he's from, but he seems like the type of dude to waste all of his money on strippers and gambling. Seems a little exploitive. In Miami, all of the big name MMG/YMCMB rappers get g checked by old heads for not giving back to the city they claim until they buckle and do so.

I don't know who AWAR is but anything with Freddie Gibbs is worth a listen. His verse is some classic Gangsta Gibbs and he kills it.

Freddie Gibbs is fuckin with some lame rear end white boys. Whatever that awar dude's got goin on behind the scenes, he needs to stick to that and give up rappin. His verses were garbage and that scruffy chin strap is laughable. That other white boy needs to put the fork down and eat healthier.

I was merely clarifying that while I appeared to be sprinkling iodized salt down into the thread, that was not my intention at first. The homie quantum phallus came through with a lackluster rebuttal, and I addressed that accordingly. Do not attempt to front, honkey. My post effectively served to further clarify any misconceptions before things got really twisted up.

I appreciate the low key sneak disses, even though yalls "nomentclature" reads like a 2009 rap thread. At least its starting to feel like a rap thread, despite all the cornballery in question.

quote:

These rhythms can't deface me
Hot rhythms stimulate me
Can't help but swing it boy
Swing it brother swing
Don't stop the beat that's
slapped this foolish brat
Come on swing me boys
Swing it brother swing

<9th Prince-Over Chorus>

Word up, let's take 'em to war, son
Show 'em how it should be done
It's real God
Yeah, Yeah
Stimulate the brain cells
Check it, Check it

<9th Prince>

Yo Killarmy bounty killers
Industry kid shivers
Shells up through your liver
Dead corp float the rivers
Murderous style is superior from Shaolin to Nigeria
Stalking through the monitor
With the wisdom for dynamical fessor (?)
Lyrical kid in processor
Nat Turner was my militant ancestor
I capture your mind put in isolation
Control the soul automation
Victims became mechanical slaves again
Read the East Coast historian
As you oppose this
Your walking dead soldiers can't get close to this
I be splitting poo poo like Moses
Then celebrate with Guns 'n Roses
I turn soundtracks into startracks
My tongue is symbolic to an axe
I used to be caught up in the world of Mad Max
Now come against the consequence of the 9th Prince
I sit upon my throne and chop off domes
Then send them home to your peoples
So they can sew 'em

Thoughts I generate like high forms of energy
My brain's energetic
Ultramagnetic synthetic
Burn like oil
High octane let it drain upon the Shaolin soil
You get trapped inside my rap coils
Like my phalanges rip the microphone
When I recite a war poem
It's writen in my soldier's log
It's a Killarmy espionage
Puerto Rican mobster in camouflage
Perform at the Mirage my entourage
Get the ticket through Telecharge as I massage lyrics get enlarged
Grenade particles rip through your fatigue articles
You flee for shelter
My tre pound rounds'll melt you
Like camouflage vinyl in the force of Delta

What, what, one time
Come on, swing it
Bring it, what
Killarm, yeah, swing it
The Gods gonna bring it
Real, what

Yo, yo
You either get down shut the gently caress up or catch an uppercut
Rough enough to muffle up your jaw when we knuckle up
Knuckle what? Bacardi hit me harder than you
You crash dummies show respect when the Gods is coming through
Eyes swollen up the size of coconuts
Your body folding up
Allah the soldier struck and through the cut I walk and hold you up
Sit back hang from your hip like loose Kani's
Try to flip it on the strength of your wis' and let you slide
Savage eighty five trying to test sides
True we're living thirty two shots
We're sending a rocket to your prison
Caught you bubbling
Like a cold sore the money coming in
Juggling the church and street life you got me wonderng and catch 'em
I let Allah bless 'em
That's the question
You dealing with a madman's profession
So choose your weapon

I'm bored so i looked up the lyrics for you on google. It took me five seconds you lazy bum.

Anyway, I just know that 9th prince does the hook. There's a lot of wu fam on that tape so its hard to tell who's who. It's not properly credited.
