Howdy ADTRW, long time lurker, first time poster. A lot of my anime watching friends recommended Cowboy Bebop as a good "beginners" anime, so I thought "what the hell" and powered through the whole thing in a weekend. I was pleasantly surprised! It was a fun, pulpy sci-fi romp with a great atmosphere throughout. But there were a few big problems I had with the show, which I'm hoping you guys can help clear up - you guys know A LOT about anime.
Like I said, any light you can shed on these issues would be most appreciated. I really did like this show. Cheers!

The Rear Fork Bruise is one of my favorite animes songs. You picked a cool anime for cool dudes. Spike was able to shoot all those guys because he had mind bullets

Your first mistake, OP, was thinking that Cowboy Bebop is a beginners anime. A lot of 'newbies' do watch Cowboy Bebop, but it is a very deep anime with a lot of rich symbolism. To get more enjoyment out of anime, I recommend iDOLM@STER. It has a lot of lovable characters and it is very easy to get into.

Since the series relies on a lot of subtleties, yeah, the OP might have missed what was going on. When Spike points his finger up there is a sudden realization that he has the power to overcome any obstacle. But it comes at a price. He realizes this in a previous episode where Andy von de Oniyate points at him and says, "See you, space Cowboy." That epithet is also seen at the end of many episodes in the bottom right corner. The price of Spike's power is that he will always re-live the same fate, something that Andy von de Oniyate knew. Spike wanted to break the chain and thus end this loop. Hope that clears everything up.

I suggest you go watch bible black and buy an anime avatar. When you have done that, perhaps you will understand why the rest of ADTRW has the nippon anime spirit and you have not currently got any yamato credibility. I would also punch your nakama for recommending Cowboy bebop, as it is something of a pro watch and will confuse the casual viewer 9/10 times.

I think he answered them in the most appropriate manner when you consider the main themes of the show. If you have watched it, then you SHOULD know that. Have you even watched this show? I cant help but feel that you haven't and are just trying to stir up trouble. Cowboy Bebop is something of a sacred cow in the Animé community and for you to badmouth it is essentially to undermine everything that ADTRW stands for as the premier transethnic Animé fanbase on the internet. If you are here to troll, then please reconsider before we all go bushido on your baka oshiri!

Faye got dumped by spike, he was all like "Sorry I gotta go die, bye." I thought that kid in the bed wanted everyone to be disabled like he was?? No Spike didn't shoot those guys, he died when he fell down, I guess.

Great post OP. Let me just fill you in on a few finer points of the series that people miss. -The people from the show aren't Japanese because they are from Space and not earth. When I realized this, it blew my mind. -People are still sad, even though it is set in the future. I emailed a drug company my idea for a pill that made everyone happy for the future so they will probably make that by the time there are spaceships. That is why it's called a "Science Fiction" series because in Sceince Fact they would use my new pill. -Faye Valentine is my wife -I love you Faye Valentine -One time I brought a girl to my house and she made me turn my Faye Valentine poster where she is sexy and wet and bending over with her titties showing very deep cleavage and looking at me w/ eyes that say "I love you" around to face the wall bc she got mad that I kept looking at it
