Oh poo poo sorry I totally spaced that advancing was part of Scythe. Ok, Advance one, pull her past me to the circle behind me, and then for my move to adjacent space move I want to be in front of her. That works, I think.

Lesandra, will you summon a new familiar? Remember that you'll be back to a 9-space board at opposite ends as soon as we reach End of Beat. Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I've been having a great time fooling around with these sprites and I'm glad you guys like them too.

Hm, I just noticed something. Both the switching-over to Into The Maelstrom and Maelstrom's forced-advance effect are End of Beat. Do you think the forced-advance effect is intended to happen on the beat that Into The Maelstrom comes into play?

I don't think so? My interpretation is that getting to the battlefield is an effect that supersedes the effect of getting dragged by the current. Or that's how my my brain interpreted it at least. EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, I'm no longer sure So whatever ruling is made works for me, it would be good to know before we submit pairs though TheCog fucked around with this message at 19:31 on Jul 26, 2014 |

I guess we'll go with not advancing on the beat you get dunked. I'm not sure if that's right, but there we are.

First thing first, thanks to Tatum Girlparts for playing and Wolery for hosting, the game was incredibly fun. Some thoughts on the game: The sprites were gorgeous, and I was tempted more than once to try different attacks just to see what they'd look like. Vanaah is still absurdly terrifying, a lot of my moves revolved around "I can't run because Judgement, and he's going to hit me for 8 and all I can do is hope to trade!". I feel like Vanaah was still in the game the entire time through, although I think the first beat after into the malestorm was mishandled, and that she should have really considered Pulsing. You could have also reached me in one beat by driving forward two spaces and letting the malestorm carry you into me. In fact, most of my plans revolved around Vanaah closing the range and how I was going to deal with her finisher. Admitedly the +4 priority from anteing raven is really hard to deal with, but if you had been able to bait that out, the match could have easily swung in either direction, I was just two blows away from dying. Paladin and Judgement are super strong and they really helped dictate a lot of my moves. Lesandra seems like a really flexible "do a little bit of everything" fighter, with no real specialized strength, which in this match up was a godsend, as a more squishy character would been straight up unable to trade with high priority power 7 blows. The thing is, a lot of the time I only really had one base or style that could do this, so I lived in perpetual fear of cancels. I really enjoyed playing Lesandra though, having familiars is fun.

Great game, great art, thanks to Wolery and GM for being awesome! Totally agree with your thoughts GM, Vanaah was hella fun and I completely forgot to factor in the malestrom for that move, yea. She always felt very much 'in the game', even at the end I wasn't thinking 'welp he's about to wreck me', just more like 'man I hope I don't get wrecked'. I played her way too conservatively in some places. Lesandra seemed neat too, I never played her or against her so I kinda wasn't sure how to deal with her summons, and I think that's a cool thing.
