Can we reboot this show from episode one to have Vampire SWAT guy as the protagonist? Because holy poo poo was he absolutely... compelling, in a disturbing sort of way. Reminded me a lot of Jaime Murray's acting from Defiance, where she tried to mimic snake movements to convey an unsettling undertone of something alien instead of just a funny-colored human.

Seriously, hats off to that actor; he pulled off a scene with loving rabbit teeth and still managed to come off as terrifying. Which should not be possible.

Zombie Vampire Mom was still out there, driven by an urge to track down her loved ones. So bringing him along with them to the nest was deemed safer than leaving him somewhere alone. At least at Eph's side, he could personally keep the kid safe (with his protagonist power. )

Helix is, I think, technically worse, but as far as entertainment goes, I definitely enjoyed it more than The Strain. I mean, at least I could laugh at Helix and have a good time with how bad it was. The Strain, on the other hand, is just a painful slog with the occasional bright-spot that just gets buried beneath the poo poo before it can even breathe.

Pacific Rim's monster designs were loving awful too. In fact, everything designed for that film was, but the monsters especially had no reason to be so loving lazy and bland.
