Just got done drafting my goon league while I was also simultaneously bartending a busy bar. 12 man league, 0.5 PPR.

QB: Nick Foles
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Jordy Nelson
RB: Zac Stacy
RB: Ryan Mathews
TE: Kyle Rudolph
FLEX: Emmanuel Sanders
K: whatever
DEF: Arizona

BN: Jeremy Hill
BN: Steven Ridley
BN: Riley Cooper
BN: Danny Woodhead
BN: Chris Ivory
BN: Jonathan Stewart

Not tooooo bad, right? I like having Rudolph, but I was trying to pick Fred Jackson instead, I was just busy with somebody at the bar. Oh well. I'm quadruple dipping in Nick Foles in all 4 of my leagues this year.

I'm going to stab you. Offline. With a real knife.

This draft started at 10:30pm yesterday so after a 3 day weekend I knew I wouldn't be able to make it through the entire thing, I stayed up long enough to get all my starters minus QB but set up my preferences before going to bed. It's yahoo, default scoring... only caveat being 2RB/3WR/TE and no flex. I picked 7th and its a 12 team league:

I feel WR is kinda weak, but RB is pretty solid since I got both Gio and Hill and Moreno seems like he's going to be getting more touches. I didn't realize there was no Flex until this morning (it became 2nd nature, I just always assume its there :smith: ) so holding Kelce seems sort of pointless outside of him having a big first 2 weeks and being able to squeeze a WR out of him.

14 person standard scoring yahoo league. I'm kind of happy but at the same time concerned about my RBs. Here is what I did:

(5) Adrian Peterson (Min - RB)
(24) Aaron Rodgers (GB - QB)
(33) Rob Gronkowski (NE - TE)
(52) Joique Bell (Det - RB)
(61) Torrey Smith (Bal - WR)
(80) Marques Colston (NO - WR)
(89) Eric Decker (NYJ - WR)
(108) Lamar Miller (Mia - RB)
(117) Hakeem Nicks (Ind - WR)
(136) Cincinnati (Cin - DEF)
(145) Steven Hauschka (Sea - K)
(164) Joe Flacco (Bal - QB)

I mean, your starters are fine but you have literally no RB bench. You normally want to play an RB as a flex, so you right now have no one to cover in case of injury or bye. You'll need to get on the waiver wire in week one and try to find SOMEONE to fill that role. Or at least pick up someone's handcuff and pray.

Had my draft over the weekend for the most competitive league I'm in, every year. 10 teams, PPR, and everyone pretty much knows what they're doing. Which means it didn't go at all like any of my mocks, but whatever. I had first pick overall.

I feel like my starters are pretty well balanced, but I don't like how, if Charles goes down, I'm starting Shane Vereen as my RB1.

Had my draft Sunday. Had to do it from my phone since I was out. 10 team league, standard scoring, 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, Flex, TE, D/ST, and K. I got to draft first, which I always consider a blessing and a curse. I think my starting lineup is ok, WR might be a little weak.

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.
So I had to autodraft in my work league (8 teams, 2RB 3WR no flex). I put all the kickers and defenses on do not draft and ended up with... this:

1. (1) LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB)
2. (16) Giovani Bernard (Cin - RB)
3. (17) Peyton Manning (Den - QB)
4. (32) Roddy White (Atl - WR)
5. (33) Julius Thomas (Den - TE)
6. (48) Michael Crabtree (SF - WR)
7. (49) Torrey Smith (Bal - WR)
8. (64) C.J. Spiller (Buf - RB)
9. (65) Shane Vereen (NE - RB)
10. (80) Nick Foles (Phi - QB)
11. (81) Jeremy Maclin (Phi - WR)
12. (96) Lamar Miller (Mia - RB)
13. (97) Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
14. (112) Maurice Jones-Drew (Oak - RB)

I finally had my draft in my 16 team league that I typically play the spoiler in. Last year I got burned with a heavy investment in Spiller in the first round (was a keeper from 2012) but this year I was able to get I think a pretty good team at least immediately post draft.

16 team, 1QB, 1RB, 1RB/WR, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex, K, DST.

1ppr and I believe 1pt/25retyds or something.

I know I'm weak at WR but I'm banking on the PPR making up for that a bit. I'm huge on Spiller, and I believe in TRich. I drafted 9th overall and it was a total redraft, no keepers.

Only thing I don't like is my RB depth behind Jennings. Some dude kept autodrafting runningbacks (He had 6 vs. 2 (!) receivers at one point), so my depth there isn't as strong as I'd like it to be. Got suckered into drafting Tinyhands late because my buddies kept taking backup quarterbacks, which made the QB depth on the waiver wire pretty weak. The TE depth on the waiver wire is excellent, though.

Goon league, 14 teams, 1 PPR, otherwise very close to ESPN standard scoring, snake draft, 7 bench spots instead of the usual 6. I picked 5th.

There are some really good guys in this league and also several newbies, a couple silly people, and I believe two of the players were autodrafting.

My intention going in was to take a great RB if I could get one in round 1, and then probably go WR and then RB/WR. Brees at 1st overall meant Charles dropped to me which was perfect, but then in round 2, I did not expect Montee Ball to still be available. With the superelite WRs taken, I decided I couldn't pass up that value, even though this is a 1PPR league. Was that a mistake?

So then in the third round I was determined to grab a good WR, but again Julius Thomas fell to me and I felt like that was just not something to pass up. JT at 33rd overall? Was that a mistake?

So my WRs aren't as strong as they should be. I really like Cordarelle, and I guess Roddy White is solid. Late in the draft I took the handcuffs for both of my starting RBs mostly because I didn't feel like stringing out a bunch more iffy WRs was going to help.

Was hoping to get any comments at all about this. I'm pretty nervous about my WR situation, and actually even though my starting RBs are really high on beersheets (which is why I picked them), reading up about them some of these guys do not seem like total locks. Charles is coming off an injury, Ball is solid and I'm not worried about him but denver has good RBs behind him in line, bishop sankey was just listed as #2 on the Titans behind Shonn Greene, and then I've got both Charles and Balls' handcuffs.

But WRs, and this is a PPC league, I'm really not loving my situation. White is supposedly going to bounce back after an injured season but who knows. Patterson seems like he has tons of upside but is not a sure thing in Minnesota. And then I've got Randle, who seems to be a red zone WR which is fine but not ideal in PPR and who knows if Eli can be relied upon to deliver him the ball. Brian Hartline is in Miami. And Benjamin is just a flyer with some possible upside someday.

Am I in as bad of shape as I feel like I am?

Gearman
Dec 6, 2011

I think your team is perfectly fine, and you're over-thinking it. Charles, while coming off an injury also managed to finish as the #1 RB in fantasy last year in pretty much every format. I'm not sold on Montee Ball, but he has arguably the best opportunity for success out of any RB in the league. Your flex and WRs are a little weak, but you've got a bunch of high-upside guys on your bench that might shore those up over the next few weeks. I'd be pretty happy with that team.

What is your scoring system? Standard or ppr?

Not bad either way. Great QB (you can drop Carr though), strong WRs, good RBs (pick up Isaiah Crowell or Terrence West for insurance on Tate), you are a little exposed at TE and I would drop Green for Kelce as Kelce has a greater chance of having a Week 1 impact, I have no idea who Allen Hurna is, and your depth is decent aside from your last 3 picks.

Had a stretch of 5 rounds where I wasn't drafting, so I took Jeremy Hill with my last pick before that stretch to secure him. Unfortunately that lead to missing out on every single mid-tier TE I would have wanted to draft.

I have to drop one player to pickup a kicker, but I have no idea who. Martellus? Dunbar? Welker?

Yikes. I think based on your positional needs and weaknesses, you have to keep Black Unicorn. I would drop Dunbar as it is likely someone will find they have a "need" for a non-productive Welker over the course of 4 weeks and would snatch him up. This happened to me too. So much value at RB and WR that I felt compelled to skip over guys like Ryan, Romo, Kaep, and RG3. I'm not going to post my full roster because the first 4 picks should tell you enough (Megatron, Graham, Gio, Gronk) but my QB is Cutler and I didn't bother taking a backup because they are available on waivers right now. Looks really good overall. I thought your RB situation looked dire until I saw that it's full PPR. I'd try to upgrade your RB2 slot though, Pierre Thomas is unexciting even in PPR leagues, and shouldn't really be starting in a normal 8-person one. All those flex spots make this a little tricker to judge, but I'd still try and swing some trades.

Solid all-around. I'd wait until bye weeks to drop someone for a fill-in QB, Brady should be fine. If you really want to pick one up, I'd grab Carson Palmer (I'm high on him and think he should have a very good season). I'd drop West in that case.

Overall I think it's great, though I definitely think I'm a victim of stressing value over need with most of my picks. I'm not sure if it's worthwhile to try to upgrade anywhere or if I should ride it out and hope that the depth and upside I've got will carry me through the season. I also don't know what the hell I'm doing with D/ST this year; streaming works out well enough but my league doesn't have auction waivers so it puts me at a handicap to use my waiver picks on defense in the event of a breakout player or injury.

I also have no clue why I ended up grabbing two D/ST at the end. Kelce is still available and while I certainly don't need him, I'd like to keep him from the others in the event that he lives up to the hype here.

Had my 10-team 2QB 0.5 PPR, keeper league draft last night, it was pretty interesting. As far as I could tell, not a single person drafted with the notion that it was a 2 QB league. This is what I ended up with:

5 Jamaal Charles, KC RB (keeper)
16 Cam Newton, Car QB
25 Colin Kaepernick, SF QB
36 Marshawn Lynch, Sea RB (keeper)
45 Matt Ryan, Atl QB
56 Cordarrelle Patterson, Min WR
65 Rashad Jennings, NYG RB
76 Michael Floyd, Ari WR
85 Kendall Wright, Ten WR
96 Mike Wallace, Mia WR
105 Dennis Pitta, Bal TE
116 Kelvin Benjamin, Car WR
125 Greg Jennings, Min WR
136 Cody Latimer, Den WR
145 Josh Gordon, Cle WR
156 Travis Kelce, KC TE
165 Nate Freese, Det K
176 Jets D/ST D/ST

Charles and Lynch were my keepers, the top 5 QBs were gone even before my first pick, so I don't feel bad about keeping Charles in the first. I probably went a bit too hard on QBs as I technically went three in a row, as I'm not very happy with my WRs, and I don't really have a great bench RB. However, I now get to start one of Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, or Colin Kaepernick during my QB bye weeks, along with Jamaal Charles and Marshawn Lynch and that feels drat good. Been attempting to trade for Alshon Jeffery, but the owner seems content to trot out Ryan Tannehill every week, and throw in Ryan Fitzpatrick during his two bye weeks.

10 Team PPR League. I had 4th overall pick. 2RB 2WR 1Flex

Qb: Drew Brees (2), Cam Newton (9 - :aaaaa:)
Rb: LeSean McCoy (1), DeMarco Murray (3 - :woop:), Ben Tate (6), Steven Jackson (10)
WR: Vincent Jackson (4), Larry Fitzgerald (5), Kendall Wright (8), Sammy Watkins (11)
TE: Jason Witten (7), Martellus Bennett (14)
K: Mason Crosby (12)
Def: Kansas City Chiefs (13)

How does Cam Newton drop to 84th overall..... :aaa:

Have you not been paying attention to ADP at all this year? Given his ADP is actually 90th, you actually technically reached for him.

People are concerned about how excessively terrible the Panthers offense is going to be, specifically his WRs. I don't think it's really any worse than it has been, but yeah.

Not gonna lie... that's rough. Obviously you have the best running back trio in the league, but it clearly came at the cost of every other position on your team.

^ What Zypher said. Also you're starting Amendola and in the 12 team league I'm in, he's unclaimed. Yikes?

Ok, so here is what you need to do. For this week see if there are any spare broncos WRs out there. Andre Caldwell or Cody Latimer both would be brilliant if they have been overlooked. You will most likely lose this week no matter what. After this week you are going to scour the waiver wire for any breakout WRs and then you are going to most likely stream a new QB in based on defense. Ben might be ok to use though, but I have pretty much no faith in Palmer. Just play that by ear, but your WRs are obviously the first, second and third priority.

If in 2 weeks you don't have a passable WR corp, package Lynch and Bowe for a RB/WR combo that will score more points for you. You aren't completely hosed but you got some digging out to do.
