This was the sign-up thread. The main game can be found here. Gauging interest with a recruitment thread. Note: Forum Platinum Upgrade is required to play. Everyone gets a power role. The number of abilities and rules are extensive. This game is not for the most casual of players. Player slots will be added if interest exceeds 14 players, but there will be 2 extra slots for backup players in case of inactives. Won't go too far past 20 players. I may add roles to balance the game if more than 14 people sign up. I've run this type of game on another forum several times with 20+ players each time, so I'm not concerned with my ability to deal with all the actions that happen every night phase. All roles are separated into groups. There will be a list of possible group slots that players will fill. They will be assigned a random role from that group. For instance, in a 14 player game, the role list could look like this: Player Slots (14 Players): ~Mafia -Godfather -Support -Deception ~Townies -Government -Investigative -Investigative -Investigative -Killing -Disruption -Protective -Protective ~Neutral -Killing -Evil -Benign This allows for duplicate roles (in Investigative and Protective in this example) This player slot list will be available at the start of the game. ~~Mafia Groups~~ --Godfather -Godfather: Always appears good-aligned to investigative roles. Night invulnerability. --Deception -Blackmailer: Target is unable to do anything but vote during the next day phase. -Beguiler: Target is hit by whatever would hit the Beguiler. -Framer: Target appears "Evil" to Sheriff, "Owns a gun" to Investigator, or guilty results to tracker/watcher. --Support -Consigliere: Same as investigator. See special rules below. -Consort: Roleblocker. -Agent: Same as Watcher and Tracker. Knows who targeted target and who target targets. ~~Town Groups~~ --Government -Mayor: Can reveal anytime during a day phase. Vote counts for 2 after reveal. Uses ##Reveal Mayor in the thread. No one else may do this. -Jailor: Protects and Roleblocks target at night. -Citizen: 1 use bulletproof vest. Always wins 1v1 with Mafia. --Investigative -Sheriff: Target player at night. "Good" or "Evil" Result -Investigator: Learn information about target. (see special rules down below) -Tracker: Knows who target targets that night. -Watcher: Knows who targeted target. --Killing -Vigilante: Kills target. One use. -Veteran: If power is used at night, becomes invulnerable and kills whoever targets them. Limited 2 uses. -Poisoner: Target player dies after the NEXT night phase. Two uses. Can't be used on consecutive nights. --Disruption -Bus Driver: Targets two players. Whatever would have happened to one player would instead happen to the other. Vice versa. Targets aware they were bussed. -Escort: Roleblocker -Absorber: Absorbs abilities used on them. Can use one of the abilities used on them on the following night. --Protective -Doctor: Target is invulnerable that night. -Bodyguard: If target is attacked, bodyguard and attacker both die. Target survives. Ignores night invulnerability. ~~Neutral Groups~~ --Killing -Serial Killer: Target dies. Kills roleblockers that target them. Wins if final player. -Arsonist: Can douse target or light. Light causes all previously doused targets to die. Victims know they are doused. Wins if final player. --Evil -Witch: Chooses "Control" and "Target". Control player uses their ability on Target player. Control player aware of their new target. Wins with Mafia. -Cultist: Targets player on odd nights. Target loses their role and becomes a cultist. Most senior cultist chooses target. --Benign -Amnesiac: Chooses a dead player. Becomes their role. One use. -Executioner: Given a random Townie Player Name at the beginning of the game. That player must be lynched for the Executioner to claim personal victory. If target dies in another manner, Executioner becomes a Jester. -Survivor: Has limited amount of bulletproof vests. Wins personal victory if they Survive to the end. Limited uses based on total players. -Jester: Wins personal victory if lynched. One random voter against the Jester dies that night. If the game is left with only two players, this is the order in which someone automatically wins the matchup. Arsonist > Serial Killer > Mafia > Cultist > Witch > Townie > Executioner > Amnesiac > Jester (note: Citizen Role always wins 1v1 against a Mafia) Investigator Results (applies to Investigator and Consigliere): "Owns a gun" - Veteran, Vigilante, Any Mafia not listed below. "Owns a knife" - Doctor, Bodyguard, Serial Killer "Snoops around for information." - Sheriff, Investigator, Tracker, Watcher, Consigliere, Agent "Smells like Chemicals" - Bus Driver, Arsonist, Absorber "Solicits sex" - Escort, Consort "Strange Runes" - Witch, Cultist "Totally benign" - Mayor, Jailor, Citizen, Godfather, Amnesiac, Executioner, Survivor, Jester Sheriff Results Evil - Mafia Roles (except Godfather), Neutral Killing, Neutral Evil Good - All other roles 48 hour days, 24 hour nights Typical majority requirement for lynch Game will continue regardless of Mafia:Others ratio. 1) Tearshed 2) CapitalistPig 3) Asiina 4) Magres 5) Poison Mushroom 6) Juanito 7) mr.capps 8) Crazyeyes 9) Kumbamontu 10) Jamuraan 11) goodness 12) uranus 13) Opopanex 14) Backups Puntification (available 8/11) apostateCourier (unknown availability) Zesty fucked around with this message at 21:46 on Aug 1, 2014 |

So we have 13 people who are in (of a minimum 14) and 2 people who won't be available absolutely immediately. Those two can be backups if someone else signs up. I also made some tweaks to the roles. Waiting for a sign-up or for one of the backups to say they can start immediately. Finishing the final write-up and role assignments (using a random number generator!) so everything is good to go the second we get someone.Magres posted:Isn't veteran basically a gimped PGO? I'd say just switch it for PGO and call it a day wrt that role. Paranoid Gun Owner makes more sense in games with fewer power roles.
