And not even somewhere off the distance they are totally in focus and everything.

Here's another great forgotten moment in TNA history Okay so remember back in 2011 when Booker T and Kevin Nash showed up at the Royal Rumble causing Matt Striker to mark out bro? Well TNA had planned to bring them in to reform the Main Event Mafia to take on Immortal, their flavor of the week giant heel stable that controls the company. The only problem was they didn't actually have Nash or Booker under contract at the time but they did the angle anyway so they had to scramble with a nonsensical reveal that Fortune, who had been attacked repeatedly in the build for this turned out to be ambushing itself??? Anyway, the week after the Rumble Eric Bischoff comes out and brags that there is no "they" coming because Kevin Nash and Booker T went to WWE. He says that "Nash did the right thing for his family. Got an action figure, dyed his hair, and rode off into the sunset." So according to Bischoff, the right thing to do is STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM TNA and actually make money somewhere else and also that "nobody cares about Booker T, that guy we tried to sign but couldn't" oatgan fucked around with this message at 04:55 on Jul 29, 2014 |

Deadpool posted:Yes, exactly. Wow. Even Russo had limits when it came to this kind of thing. When you watch the best of those, like the one he did with Ric Flair on the Thunder when Arquette won the belt, or the one where he talks about the Hulk Hogan Memorial Belt, you kind of get the vibe that the concept for that kind of thing was to bring the audience back to a state of suspension of disbelief in wrestling, to make them question what was real and what wasn't again. Maybe that's giving Russo too much credit, but if that was his intent it's the shadow of a good idea absent all of the obvious flaws. But coming out and saying things like the belts are fake and all that matters is your ability to draw, put asses in seats and get coins in the coffers is beyond any kind of sense, that's literally taking a crap on your entire concept. Even Russo never devalued the World Title by saying it was worthless, he just stupidly made it worthless by his incompetence.

That time Dixie did an interview with the fans and was asked how much she'd be willing to sell TNA for and she in turn asked how much Vince was willing to sell WWE for because she might have bought it.

I linked the LOLTNA history to a mate who is a bit of a TNA mark He claims that most of it is bullshit, brought about by so many 'big name' wrestlers screwing TNA over that the company never stood a chance. Citing that all the money they paid to Nash, Syxx and Hall in the early years doomed the company to failure, but for whatever reason, the names Russo, Hogan and Angle never came up.
