I would rather die than spend 28 years in solitary. That's longer than I've even been alive. At least if you're in with the general population on a life term, it's easier to kill yourself when you can't take it anymore. I'd try like hell in solitary too, but I'd probably knock myself out before doing the job right. Maybe I could bite my tongue in half after going sufficiently crazy from loneliness? Anyway yeah, dude definitely has a case.
