No, you don't understand. They need that money, even if they have accumulated so much that their great grand children won't be able to spend it all they need to keep hoarding cash and material goods and their taxes should never get above 36% because it would be stealing food from their family's table.

If the minimum wage had increased along with inflation it would be something like $18/hr. today. Despite the fact the minimum wage has declined in real value over the decades the cost of living, goods and services has skyrockets. It's almost like this you have a really lovely argument.

Their benefit programs include helping people sign up for government assistance.

Tonetta posted:Yea except it doesnt because poors arent giving corporations money so the kiddle class eats the losses Actually poor and middle class consumers are the engine of the entire economy and they are more likely to buy things if you throw a few extra dollars a week or month at them than if you cut taxes for top earners or corporations. Based on that it makes more sense for large retailers to increase their pay rates so their employees can buy more directly from them and increase the amount of income each store makes.

Jeffrey posted:also why do you want more kids we have plenty of kids, id rather pay women to get their tubes tied or men to get vasectomies No, that's not a capitalist approach. Subsidize condoms so the latex industry gets a nice increase in business until they move their factories overseas and skimp on material costs and somehow make condoms give you extra fertility.

Any amount of children is too many children. I say we make abortion legal to age five and give Blackwater a no bid contract to do what they do best.

anonumos posted:The only problem I have with this is the challenge is for one week. Try a whole month. Or a year. One fricken paycheck? How about a week where your hours get cut. How about knowing that 4 weeks from now you have a big bill and not only is this week tight but you have to find ways to keep some of this week's pay in reserve to pay that upcoming bill. This is just leading to bigger and better challenges. Imagine what happens when congressmen decided that the plight of the nation's incarcerated needs to be brought to attention so they get arrested and sent to jail on aggravated gun charges or domestic abuse and can't take it after a week and have their friends bail them out.

The job market is crazy.
