Some modern children's entertainment still... let's say builds character. Adventure Time manages to work in some messed up poo poo from time to time, and Legend of Korra pushes the limit of Y7. First season ended with an on-screen murder suicide, and the latest season had someone suffocated to death for the viewer, and someone else got her head exploded.

The Otacon joke in Revengeance is a little different than you remembered. Sunny talks about how Hal is keeping women at arm's length because of his Tragic Past. But, you know, he's still finding something to do on Saturday nights if you know what she means. Basically, Otacon's figured out that long term relationships are the kiss of death. Short term hookups work out much better for everyone. He also doesn't look like a total dork anymore, so that helps with the whole thing. As for Sunny, she's got Science. That's all the love she needs.
