Minecraft feels a lot like wasted potential. The creative part is good (although it's a shame that it doesn't allow for more detailed or complex shapes than blocks when there are mods that add those in and make them look good), but everything else is poorly done. e: Yeah I think TNT cannons still work.

Terraria is actually good. It's just not a very good multiplayer game unless everybody plays the same amount and at the same time. Minecraft's wide but shallow progression is better for people popping in and out of a server. Terraria, not so much. It makes a better LAN-like experience.
