 https://www.twitch.tv/jamesplaysgamesttv OK, it's been over three years since I last played, but we're picking up right where I left off. I even rewatched all my VODs to refresh my memory. Please come join me and offer some gentle guidance because this game is hard and we left off with a few different areas we could try exploring. Last Time: -Decided to check out Irithyll Dungeon, which was an offshoot from Irithyll and figured it would be a nicer option than the Londo knights. -I was wrong. -Jerky prison guards with branding irons keep causing my health to rapidly drop ALONG WITH my health cap so I can't heal. -Also zombies in prison cells. And weird creepy-looking beasts with human heads. -Making my way further along and further down, eventually encountering a fuckton of jailers patrolling around in a circle. -Find a bridge leading to a large ruined tower, and I can see a bonfire over there. -Going across the bridge, a gargoyle comes out of nowhere and tries to ruin my day. -Was advised to return to the Catacombs because I missed something. -Apparently that old bridge I was warned about, I'm supposed to break to create a path downward. -Yay, now I can get to Horace, Anri's traveling buddy! -Horace went hollow and I had to kill him.  -Area down here leads to Smouldering Lake, a swampy area below the trees. -There is a giant triple-stacked ballista firing massive bolts at me. There is some kind of giant worm in the water, AND there are giant crabs that are on fire. -A bolt breaks the ground open and drops me into some very old hallways with the monsters from Farron Keep, except now they know fire spells. -This continues on into the Demon Ruins. This was a place in Dark Souls 1, and now we're back much, MUCH later in the timeline and everything is hosed up. -It is a labyrinth with many side paths to explore and it's too much choice for me and I get overwhelmed. -Headed back to the Demon Ruins, where I quickly got killed. Ah, it's good to be back. -Wandered around a bit to get my bearings, and ended up back at Smouldering Lake. Fog door is nearby. -Go in fog door, and fight and kill the Old Demon King on my first attempt. Ah, it's good to be back. -Went back into the Demon Ruins to explore further. There's some areas of lava I can't navigate without finding something that will help. -Also found Knight Slayer Tsorig, a very mean enemy who wields the Fume Knight Greatsword from DS2. They proceed to absolutely wreck my poo poo with it numerous times because they are a jerk. -Found my way back out to Smouldering Lake, where I'm able to shut down the ballista and make exploring the lake safer. -I also end up killing the giant worm. -And the giant crabs that are on fire. -Hell yeah! -After that, I head off to the Profaned Capitol (ruined tower past the gargoyle) and explore the area. -More gargoyles, and mean creepy ladies that throw fireballs at me and try to stab me. -Found Yhorm the Giant. They have an insane amount of health, so clearly there's a trick to this fight I need to figure out. Hey, what about this sword I found in the arena... -Before trying it out, I explore another area with creepy spider-skeleton-ladies and toxic mud. It sucks. -I get to a room with what can only be described as a "hand monster" and it's a massive jerk that I hate very much. -Eventually kill it and take revenge on the other hand monsters that are asleep. -Climb up to the roof of a building and fight a sorcerer who is also a jerk. A lot of people and things in this game are jerks. -Find Onion Bro trapped in a cell. Free Onion Bro. -Find a shortcut back to Irithyll Dungeon, and a new set of keys.
