The PSP version of SVR whatever added a bunch of minigames like hold em and dizzy racing where you controls would randomly shift, and that was fun.

I'm sorry. You're right. Yuke's deserves the benefit of the doubt. It's their first wrestling game after all. Hopefully the next Gen consoles will be able to fit more than 5 characters on the screen at the same time. I just fear they'll have to cut entrances to two seconds in order to free up the memory to do so.

I mean it is kind of weird to expect feature parity when WWE games have the advantage of basically being the same game with new features bolted onto it every year for like 15 years compared to a new game on a new engine, even if it is the same devs. Would Fight Forever be better if it had 6-man and 8-man matches? I dunno maybe? Multi-Man matches are miserable in WWE games cause the CPU insta-breaks every single pinfall and any time there's more than 2 people in a match you gotta change a bunch of settings and constantly switch characters or else it takes 45 minutes to finish a single match. So if I'm stuck with 4-way matches but they're like, actually fun and not frustrating to play? I'll take it.

And think of all the wrestlers they can withhold for DLC next time! I can't wait to pay extra to play as Willow Nightingale. But being able to play as Madison Rayne will have to hold me over until then.

A less cool and fair person than I might make a note that because of the months and months and months of delays this is "next year's aew game" and perhaps the extra months in the oven could help it

Gameplay is really tight. Moves are snappy and have wweight. Couldnt figure out reversals. Rope running is a little plastic feeling kinda like the ps2 smackdown games

Finishers work similar to the aki games. I would say it feels like a blend of the ps1 smackdowns and n64 akis.

I'm basically expecting something like Smackdown 1 - fun, but lacking in extra bells and whistles. When SD1 hit, WM2000 was out with cage matches and all the AKI goodies, and WWF Attitude, for as poorly as it aged, had a bazillion gimmicks available. The fear is if the engine is not upgraded since I think they've said they're avoiding yearly games? Adding 6/8 man matches is far beyond the scope of a patch, I believe But I could see them adding something like a cage match as DLC?

I think game will be good and will be a good base game to build on with expansion packs adding in cage matches etc. Or I don't know, it'll be bad. Such is game development.
