For as goofy as some of the physics and collisions look they all seem like a good goofy where they work. That snare trap animation looks great.

The game all takes place backstage and the end is you walking out for your first match, fade to credits

I consider that minimal in relation to the size of the arena

It's absolutely minimal when compared to the amount of blood in a person

GCW probably does, yeah. Trademark law is very stupid. It was a dumb name to pick for pretty much this reason, fight forever is already used in wrestling so of course you will run into a situation where someone has a claim to it.

Reviewers are morons. This game isn't like this other game! But it was trying to be something else - like what people remember the games from the late 90s playing like. I DON'T CARE 3/10 IT LOOKS LIKE POOP!

Don't pay attention to the numbers, read the actual reviews. The numbers are made up poo poo an editor slaps on at the end

The words are not even telling me that the reviewers get it

From the IGN Review

Yeah, this isn't a fighting game with a health bar. Kick outs shouldn't be based on if you accurately pull off the timing on the mini game.

It's weird that people praised the N64 era games for so long, and now that it's here the reviews are like "Well, it's not like WWE2K"

It's kind of annoying that you can't tell except when your character just stuck on the ground forever. Then you know that the damage is bad.

None of that is actually in the game yet and is something that might be announced later

Also they are doing that poo poo because video games are an impossible industry and the economics of selling them make no sense so the only way to produce games and make money is by adding a bunch of stuff that you can sell. Games are not viable as a product you sell once and then never make another dollar from.

Rune Factory 5 has a bunch of optional costumes you can buy, most of those jrpgs do now. Buy the game and it has 50 dollars worth of costume dlc you can also buy. Everyone is pushing to figure out ways to make the game a product that you can sell over and over again.

The cash isn't something you can pay money for either. It's not a road block to make money, it's just a way to time gate some content and push you to engage with stuff. Very old school. The battle pass and endless dlc seems to be their plan for getting more money out of the game.

Daigo hitting a bunch of frame perfect attack cancels is a terrible example of "uh actually fighting games do that"

Game is a good party game, bare bones otherwise, but being able to play and finish a match is a revolutionary development in the modern wrestling game so whatever

No meter/timing indicator for kickouts is good. Makes for actual false finish moments. All the best games do it this way (Giant Gram 2000).

This is the actual reason momentum systems are good in wrestling games and skill based input is good in fighting games

They wanted them because they think it adds to it as a couch co-op game

Fight Forever is great but also distinctly a game no one makes anymore, a couch co-op party game, for good reason. They kind of forgot that the problem with making a game from 2002 is that no one consumes media the way they do in 2002.

Everything the game does best is also the stuff no one cares about.

The game is absolutely finished, the back and forth about it being finished or not was AEW saying it was mostly finished and waiting for ESRB ratings and tweaks. Developers saying it wasn't finished was in the context that it had not gone gold yet so they didn't have the final finished product that was shipping. They made a good game that's finished, it's just also the sort of game people don't play anymore. It's a really good party game where you pick your favorite AEW wrestler and fight and would have killed in 2002 or something but the entire idea of what a wrestling game is has changed a ton. It's a really well made game that has a huge vision and direction problem.

The show is garbage, the game is garbage, at least do "no ethical consumption under capitalism" for things that are actually worth consuming.
