Guess that confirms no pre-order / early access for Steam. Booo.

I was watching a Fight Forever PC stream on Twitch over the weekend and on first launch from Steam it asks if you want to link your Epic Games account to enable cross-play between Steam/Epic friends, so I guess that means it'll be available at some point on Epic Games Store too.

THQ posted a new FAQ

Although numbered, the questions are in no particular order.

General questions:

2. When does the review embargo lift and will we see reviews before pre-order chance runs out?
The review embargo drops this Wednesday, June 28th for both streamers and reviews, so you will get to see plenty of content ahead of time.

3. Is the Elite edition available for physical copies?
No, the Elite Edition is only a digital option.

4. Will Matt Hardy be available to all players post launch? If so, will it only be for a limited time?
This DLC will be released on release day June 29.

5. If I pre-order the PS5 version, will I also get the PS4 version at release and vice versa?
You can upgrade a PS4 to a PS5 version, yes, but not the other way round.

Chris Jericho
Bryan Danielson
Orange Cassidy
Jungle Boy
CM Punk
The Hardys

9. I am a content creator/member of the press–where can I get a review copy?

Is there a way to run out of the ring to the floor (other than on a skateboard)? If so, I can't seem to find the buttons/timing - closest I can get is running to the ropes and hitting L2, which then steps me to the outside of the apron but not to the floor.

Is ewr actually worth playing over tew?

It's a lot less involved / more casual than TEW, so outside of the price difference it kinda comes down to whether you want each game week to take 1hour or 4hours to deal with.

For example, each EWR show is twelve segments where as in TEW you book to the minute. Stats are simpler in EWR, as is roster management and negotiations etc.

I'd love it if someone ported EWR to mobile, it would be the perfect commute game.

blunt
Jul 7, 2005

In both TEW and EWR you set a promotion style that determines your audiences expectation of match:segment ratio (and match style itself), and then can also book matches in advance that affect tickets/viewership based on worker overness and feud hype. TEW is just more in depth.

Looks like Stadium Stampede plays completely different than the actual wrestling part of the game? Is this right? I’m seeing a lot of bad running around and scoop slams. If so, wild that this new mode doesn’t have the one thing people like about this game which is the wrestling gameplay.

Like I knew there would be some catch to going from 4 characters to 30, but I figured it would be like only 4 people are allowed in an area of the arena at a time and the winner moves on or something. Not just like, it plays like a dog poo poo indie game.

Yeah it plays totally different - you have a single strong/weak punch/kick/grapple/running grappel that's determined by your character class (high flyer / balanced / power), plus whatever weapons you pick up (you can hold 5) and your finisher.

There's a whole attribute points / skill tree thing and boosts and ... yeah it's totally different to the core gameplay.

Gambit from the X-Men posted:

oh poo poo, what's the Sting attire?

Facepaint. Mox and Jericho have both got a couple of new sets of ring gear, Trent? is the same as before but shaved head, haven't looked at the others. They're not there by default though - you have to manually assign them to new presets in "Modify A Wrestler". If you never read the patch notes / online you'd never know they'd been added 🤦‍♂️

I think Stadium Stampede would have been a nice little "hey, that's neat" feature that kept people logging in for a while if it had been there since launch, but as the only game update two months after launch it's pretty frustrating when there's so many other core game things that should have been getting addressed by now.

If the season 1+2+3 content had been one $15 DLC that came out in one drop 2-3 months after launch and then they kept up that cadence (especially adding more modes the way they did with beat the elite) it wouldn't be so bad. But the constant slow expensive drip isn't going to draw anybody back to the game.

Anyway, November's DLC leaked:
