Pretty sure that Dark Heresy doesn't have rules for this. It might be possible fluff-wise but pretty unlikely.

Being a psyker means that we have been sanctioned btw. Fun stuff, side-effects may include partial or complete skull reconstruction, sanity blasting visions, having all your teeth explode out of your skull due to psychic agony trapped within, sacred wards on your lips, gums and soft palate, loss of hair and/or sterility. At least it means we were judged strong enough to serve as sanctioned psyker, instead of being fed to the Golden Throne.

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Sanctioned_Psykers

So of course we are going to be Psykers.

Sperg is good! Im still working on getting system mastery on all these books. Knowing where to look is helpful.

Im kind of expecting us to go Radical right out of the gate, and if I can keep people's attention, Im totally stapling on Ascension and Rogue Trader.

When I checked this morning, tech-priest was winning, so I looked up a bunch of things like Malygrisian Tech Heresy. I guess my next project is reading the Psyker rules, unless you can persuade the thread to love the Omnissiah.

Dark Heresy uses the double unlock system for advancement, by which you choose a specialty for your level, and then spend XP on buying talents and skills within that level. Psyker has more options on each tier, but also has a much higher likelihood of head exploding. Additionally, it looks like we can start unlocking Psyker powers as a Tech Priest after 6.

Basically, if we want to play the long game, slow is smooth, survive and win, Tech Priest looks better, while if we want to burn out in a blaze of glory while thousands around us erupt in daemons, probably killing us before get max level, we want Psyker.

If you hit 100 you become an insane daemon mutant and I have to look up the Black Crusade rules as you swear to bring down the Corpse-Emperor from his Throne on Terra.
