It's a pleasure to meet all of you. Especially in such a fine settin' as this. Just need us some music an' a brawl an' we'll be set.
I think if you get right down to it, Hera would gladly side with the Emperor if it meant she got her revenge.

Slice of Life: PDF Corporal Wilmer Derby. Location: Linnaeus III, Ultima Segmentum

"God-Emperor in this our hour of need we place our faith in Your limitless mercy and unyielding stre--" Derby was interrupted by the snap and pop of solid munitions passing within a few feet.

"God-Emperor, hear us and pr--"

"Shut up and get on the loving horn! We need fire support NOW! They're inside the spire!" Lieutenant Gnaeus barked. The anger in his voice was surpassed only by the fear. His face had drained of colour. He inched closer to the wall to peek over it. His helmet may as well have been made of paper for all the good it did as a crackling blade smashed through the plascrete barricade, impaled him beneath the chin and dragged him over the wall.

"No! Not like this. OhpleaseohpleaseohpleaseEmperorIdon'twanttodie." Derby felt warmth between his legs as he soaked his fatigues and fell backwards. He curled into a ball.

The world went white and then black.

Am I moving? Why am I moving? What's that noise? Why am I wet? His eyes opened and he found himself surrounded and covered by the dead and the dying. The pile writhed and churned like a bucketful of maggots as the living fought for air, for relief, for salvation>. Wherever he was felt like it was moving.

"H-h-HELP! OHFUCKGETMEOUTOFHEEEEEERE!" He screamed, fighting to climb his way out of the pile of bodies. Something cold, slick and hard clamped around his neck and granted him his request. Wishes rarely turn out the way one hopes, however, and as he was unceremoniously dumped on a conveyor, he screamed again. Dozens of mechanical devices hung above him, moving with pinpoint precision and grisly intent. Sawblades and manipulators descended and his limbs were riven from his torso. Another dendrite plunged a large hypodermic needle into his heart, flooding his torso with a tingling chill.

What's happening to me? Why am I still alive? Why can't I die? gently caress I just want to go home. I want my mum. Where are you?

His eyelids were forced apart by smaller digits, his eyes streaming bloody tears as he managed to move his head just enough to behold his body. His ribcage was splayed open like a dead cockroach and one by one he watched organs detached and chunks of machinery stuffed inside him where his meat once was. Then he felt clamps grasp his head, locking it in place as more saws and spikes descended.

Then they took his eyes. His final scream was but a whimpered gurgle as white hot lances of pain drove into his eyesockets.

Before it, a number of red silhouettes flashed in its vision. Bearing, range, size, armaments. All this information and more filtered through its sensory matrix and was uploaded to its controller. As it broke into a sprint toward the red silhouettes and bore down upon one of them, something flickered in the back of its mind. Recognition? Hate?

<BoneLorde> so in my mind it would be completely justified for main-perspective Ohone to murder the other one
<Tran> BoneLorde, Not only justified, all but imperative.

I would just like to say that you are both horrible monsters and should be ashamed of your words and deeds.

+++Progress Report - Encryption Level: Dominion Alpha+++

//Project Number: MH-003
//Project Classification: Class C - Non-lethal
//Project Type: Memetic Hazard
//Project Codename: PAX
//Project Lead: Adept Ohone

Initial testing pool selected from prison population's most violent and egregious offenders. Further aggression factors induced surgically and chemically. Research personnel separated by three (3) separate filter layers. Observation proceeded from behind audio-visual distortion, the raw A/V data then scrambled and parsed through a sanitisation reinterpreter algorithm and viewed third party through a surveillance servitor's live feed.

First stage symptoms manifest within seconds. Stage one consists of a marked (as high as 46%) reduction in initiatory or first-strike violence and a minor (~05-11%) increase in verbal engagement.

Second stage symptoms manifest between one (1) to three (3) minutes of exposure. Stage two consists of drastic, almost total (~97%) cessation of violence, including retaliatory. Physical response primarily conciliatory, evasive if attacked. Aggression levels minimal. Subject brain activity trends almost exclusively to reasoning, bargaining, attempts to reach non-violent cessation of hostilities.

Third stage symptoms manifest roughly six (6) to ten (10) minutes after exposure depending on subject's biochemistry. Stage three subjects are lethargic and responsive at levels equivalent to frontal lobectomy and heavy sedation. Subjects extremely prone to suggestion and will follow simple instructions. "Go here", "sit down", "eat", etc. Stage three duration as yet unknown, presently exceeds twelve (12) hours.

In summary, Pax should provide a versatile means of pacification, especially of hyperviolent individuals, including those exposed to chemical and biological aggression triggers.

I am getting deja vu because I think I said this in chat, but the chemical pacification reminds me of The End of the Whole Mess, a Stephen King short.

Also we are all weirdo children making sandcastles in the litter box y'all. Welcome to reading/voting/contributing to CYOAs on the something awful dot com forums, please don't slap the turd out of your playmate's hand. There's plenty of room for gimmick voting for grimdark hello kitty and murderbots and guest contributions and getting RealMad about catgirls.
