Okay, I'll confess here. I always tip when eat at a restaurant, but I usually do not tip if I'm getting takeout from a restaurant.

FogHelmut posted:wait are we talking about that curbside takeaway from applebees or whatever bullshit? if so, then lol I'm talking any restaurant. Pizza place, Applebees, the nice Greek place down the street... I usually don't tip if I'm getting takeout. I go out to eat a lot, but only get takeout a handful of times per year. They usually just take my card over the phone and when I get there they just hand me the food. I normally never have to take out my wallet during the process.

The people I know who work in bars almost never shut up about the crazy amount of TAAAAX FREEEEEE money they make in tips every night.

I tip cab drivers $2 flat, unless they deliver a baby on the way or something.

FogHelmut posted:I don't understand who I'm tipping because there is usually someone who takes my order, and then shows up occasionally when they're not on a smoke break, and an entirely different person actually brings me my food. Is this person only qualified to carry food? Is the waitress above carrying food? Yeah I hate when that happens

I'm not exactly starving, because I'm smart with money and I work my rear end off. I know there's a sucker born every minute, but holy poo poo you count for two.
