ayn rand hand job posted:How has it bugged out? The first time he had the exclamation mark but when I clicked on him it redirected me to the main map. The second time there was no exclamation point. both times it took them 2 days to fix it which is okay, I guess they don't have that many people checking little bugs. What I find weird is that it's exactly that quest, which fucks up my ascension plan.

Twitch event with a post-apocalypse theme. Lots of new craftable items, including a craftable familiar. There aren't any non-combats in the new zone, but there's a scheduled fight with an ATM (that has only 1 hp) every dozens turns or so that spits out more Chroner the more damage you kill it with.

So, what's the best Chroner stuff to try and grab if I have nothing? Or is it not really worth tossing a day's adventures at?

Haven't done my epic yet Pretty much keep going with the council quests. You can't get the final quest from the council without completing the prior ones. Take a look at Spookyraven manor and see if you can progress through it as well. (Note that the 3rd Floor is completely optional) Have you made your way to the beach or island yet? You should probably also make your Epic Weapon. As a Turtle Tamer, it makes taming easier, and extends the potency of your buffs.

The newly revamped White Castle sidequest has some cool new rewards. You get it from the dude in your guild that gives you the meatcar quest. Also, it's easy to miss the Liver of Steel sidequest. You get it in Pandemonium by going through the portal in the Deep Fat Friars grove.

I do wish I could play this game without needing wikipedia on alt-tab. But if I don't look up every new area then I'll end up with quests like this: "Go to the grim-dark castle and find the cucumber" then after adventuring in the castle for 100 turns I look it up and I find out that in order for the cucumber to drop I first need to go to the pond of serenity and fight the skeleton of light to loot the boots of harnessing and then wear them while adventuring in the grim-dark castle.

Well, that was a good few months of low activity. At least there's a few Bottled Days to show for it. My question for my good goonetariat is, which is the better Grim familiar? I got meat to burn.

The Grimstone Golem has (among other things) items that speed up the Level 7, 9, and 11 quests. If you've already got a spleen familiar, get the golem. If you don't... actually, you could get a Pair of Stomping Boots for less than the cost of two Mr. As, so you still shouldn't get the Grim Brother.

I was looking into getting one of the Xi Receiver units since I don't have a correspondence item yet but every time I look it seems like their price has jumped another 10-20 million meat. Are they really that good or just rarer than the other two options?

Woo! Finally finished my first 4-day run. AT is like, crazy dumb easy. The only thing it's missing is a heal and I guess you can just grab like Disco Nap and be pretty much good forever, since you have pretty much unlimited MP. So, uhh.... tell me about Big!?! I need to get SHC, and I'll never get it in a no-path run because I can't convince myself to stick around for aftercore. It looks like Big! would be super easy and fast, since everything will be unlocked and you can just set up similar things together to knock them all down. Any tips?

You'll need ways to survive the bigger damage. If you've got %stat boosts/DR/DA abilities (I forget what ones are best as I'm in no way optimal and I've been playing for years so I just pull stuff from Hangk's.) Really, things just hit harder and have more defense & HP. That's the big difference. If you can manage that, then you're good.

So it turns out that drinking four 4 drunkeness drinks will not put your drunkeness at 14, like my brain decided it would for some reason. There goes a whole day of my latest ascension. I don't know how many times I'll make that mistake before I stop.

Anyone got anything to say about the Conspiracy Beach? I don't regret buying the Spring Break charter but I'm worried whether there's going to be much overlap between the utility offered by each charter. Being able to fight scaling monsters whenever you want during an ascension is really, really useful for stats but earning enough Beach Bucks in-run to buy anything other than some awesome-quality food is generally unlikely. Spring Break might remain the optimal beach for anyone with a geneticist lab thanks to the turn 0 weird DNA. Also: Xi Receivers seem freakin' cool, and spending meat is probably something I shouldn't do if I wanna buy one of the things. I don't have spring break, so I can't compare, but I doubt Conspiracy is optimal for anything if you have the other. It does have scaling monsters, and it is super awesome, but the currency spender stores require somewhere around 50 adventures to be spent per store - which kills them for in-run use. Really too bad, as the store items are neat. If you don't have spring break though, definitely get it. That's what I did. Plus the monster lab is a really fun challenge, even if it can be totally unfair.

Spring Break might remain the optimal beach for anyone with a geneticist lab thanks to the turn 0 weird DNA. Coins-spiracy can be accrued steadily; there's a daily mission that awards 20-30 Coins-spiracy, and it looks like the first 5 Mercenary fights every day drop a guaranteed Coinspiracy. Saving up for Hypersane in aftercore should therefore be pretty painless, and passive permanent spooky resistance helps for A-Boo Peak. I don't know what Intimidating Mien does yet. In-run usefulness might come from the SHAWARMA Initiative and the Canteen, because the food and drink are high-quality, fairly cheap, and have some pretty beneficial effects. Jungle Juice in particular looks to make the scaling zone even more of a powerleveling powerhouse and only costs 1 Coin. I suspect you have to unlock the storefronts every ascension, though, and spending a whole shitload of adventures in the Government Lab and the Weirdeaux Mansion just to find the keycards doesn't exactly scream "optimal" to me. Or "fun." Those alligator heads can go fly a kite. Enemy drops are underwhelming. Actually, common drops are underwhelming, rare drops look to be pretty decent pulls, but good luck with that in Hardcore. Farming transdermal smoke patches isn't worth it in-run. tl;dr the Island has neat/interesting stuff that takes a bit too much luck/time to get, so yeah, probably not gonna shave too many adventures off your runs.

Finally got my 4th Telescope part, so I guess it's time to finally start Heavy Rains - or I can farm around in Conspiracy Island. I don't think I have the patience to see what the Omega button does, but I'm so curious. Edit: I just found a Still Grill in my inventory I totally forgot about. Bought it when I was still Pete. Is it worth sticking in the terrarium, or should I root around my inventory for some more unknown meat sources and try to scrounge up enough for a folder holder? Edit Edit: Man, nobody is ever on in my old clan anymore. Despite the fact that I will miss my awful clan of pink floyd loving pubbies, I'm sitting in a ghost town. Galloping Grill is a total upgrade over the Hovering Sombrero. It gives Sombrero stats without requiring special equipment, deals hot (or physical) damage, generates MP, and drops various marginally-useful potions. AFAIK the only other "better-than-Sombrero" is a Baby Sandworm, and you can't take that into Heavy Rains.
