Kwik posted:- Now the biggie, if the schedule wasn't convoluted and hilariously unbalanced before- The Pacific Division will only play 68 games. The rest of the league will play 76. So, it will be point percentage, not total points that will determine placing Top 4 in each division make the playoffs, with the crossover in place if the 5th place team in the Atlantic has a better percentage than the 4th place team in the North, or the 5th place team in the Central over the 4th place team in the Pacific. well... the California teams in the Pacific division play 68 games. Texas and San Antonio who are also part of that division play 76. So yeah, you get 5 teams in a division having an advantage on the other two teams in the division arising from less travel and fatigue. Texas is going to be one of the top teams in the AHL once again this year so it shouldn't be an issue for them to make it, but San Antonio may very well lose out on a playoff spot because of this ridiculous arrangement.

N: The Milwaukee Admirals just unveiled their new logo and unifoms. http://www.milwaukeeadmirals.com/news/071615newlogo V: I was feeling kind of nervous about this but holy poo poo they did a really good job. No more black road unis, the A on the cap, and best of all that loving Saturday morning cartoon skeleton is gone! About the only negative I can see is the interlocking MA shoulder logos which are a bit too messy, but it's a small blemish on a much improved look. Me too, I loved the cartoon logo. It really stands out in a league that's starting to lose its design diversity now that everyone is moving to their parent club's jersey. I'm totally fine with new Spooky Admiral, especially since the colour scheme is staying, but Goofy Admiral will always be my favourite If they start pricing down the old wacky jersey I will probably buy three of them somebody stop me please

Nottingham seems to already be booked up. On the other hand, nobody has bought Boris Valabik a jock strap yet. e: it also depends on what sort of sponsorship the team takes. Some just take £500 per player for a season, which I think is too much for a goon project. Coventry and Glasgow allow for piecemeal sponsorship, and Belfast just says that they're open for ideas. Fleury will always be loved here- arriving off the plane, fat, 36 and probably withdrawing to play his first game that night. He scored a hat trick, got four assists and (somehow) beat the poo poo out of Johnny Oduya's brother. You talking to Glover, Hand Knit? He's a good dude. I don't think they have a marketing guy at present though. The Giants are part of an actually large business so the shenanigans potential is comparatively low. When it was its own wheeling & dealing thing you could literally sponsor a guy's socks for like £20 but they are past the every-penny stage these days. Still they won't turn much down, especially if it's fun. Derrick Walser is player-coach this year which is exciting, I saw him play for Berlin a few times and he outscored the ghosts of Marc-Andre Bergeron and Taylor Pyatt in Switzerland last season. What is the deal with Kris Beech by the way? I remember him being pretty good and physical but he hasn't scored much the last few years. Think he'll be a faceoff specialist for us. Former Dallas Stars draft selection Matt Nickerson plays for the Belfast Giants, and he had something like 350 penalty minutes in 50 games last year.. also meets the criteria for being big and goofy looking What are the benefits of sponsoring a player HK? I bet we could round up $500 in cash between everyone on here. **then again 500 in euros might be out of reach.. USD is barely behind euro these days (though like a month ago it could've been less than $530).

£500 is over $1000 Canadian right now. As for the benefits, they obviously vary based on the range. If it's something like Boris Valabik's jock strap, then the reward is a signed team photo. If you sponsor a player for Braehead, you get mentioned as their sponsor every game and maybe some other stuff. Some tiers get you stuff like signed gear or a jersey. (In the case of Braehead, you can actually 'buy' the player's jersey and lease it to the player for the season." I haven't heard back from the Belfast guy. I suspect that the best option is to make a bunch of individual sponsorships in the £15-30 range, since that also gets around the coordination problem (because I'm pretty sure that asking you guys to send me $1000 would not be well received).

Trying to book an OHL trip for me and some buddies. We were interested in hitting up London this time around since it's a fun city and the team is and has always been stacked. All tickets for the season have essentially been sold out and the only seats left for any of the games are nosebleeds and maybe some standing room. This is insane, has London always been a hot commodity for tickets? I usually go to Guelph games and while popular, it's not usually sold out months in advance.

So, I was looking through Lake Erie's schedule to see if/when our token weekday morning/afternoon game is... and I found out something more interesting. Lake Erie only plays the following teams: Grand Rapids - 12 games Charlotte - 8 Chicago - 8 Iowa - 8 Manitoba - 8 Milwaukee - 8 Rockford - 8 Rochester - 4 San Antonio - 4 Texas - 4 Toronto - 4 Teams they don't play: Albany Devils Bakersfield Condors Binghamton Senators Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hartford Wolf Pack Hershey Bears Lehigh Valley Phantoms Ontario Reign Portland Pirates Providence Bruins San Diego Gulls San Jose Barracuda Springfield Falcons St. John's IceCaps Stockton Heat Syracuse Crunch Utica Comets Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins I'm curious to see if all of the schedules are like this.

Here's one example, keeping in mind that all of these teams are in the same division: Rochester plays 16 different teams this year Syracuse 13 Albany 13 St. John's 12 Toronto 15 Utica 15 Binghamton 11 For the past few seasons, Rochester was Binghamton's most-played opponent, which is fine until you remember that they weren't even in the same CONFERENCE, let alone the same division. Throw in the California fiasco for this season and it just gets worse. It's not sustainable.
