yo theres this little comp fighter on steam called lethal league, a more developed version of this prototype: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw1XKcsafx4 its very good, even if its still ugly as gently caress unlike nidhogg, the netcode is GREAT, uses ggpo. check it out if you like that kinda experimental fighting game, well bye

why not? it'd let you block each other in midair and that could work to either player's advantage and increase the amount of ground game going on

Doctor Goat posted:why not? it'd let you block each other in midair and that could work to either player's advantage and increase the amount of ground game going on you could just speed up the ball on your side of the screen and the enmy would have a chance to get in. the main mechanic is both players are kind of chasing the ball, trying not to get hit by it, but also hitting it yourself as often as ppossible, and blocking would take the speed out of this race.
