I did a quick search but apologies if this is a frequent question. How often should I replace a hard drive? I have a 1TB Samsung from 2010 coming up on its 5 year anniversary. Crystal Disk pegs it at 4,500 hours powered on. No sign of problems yet but I thought I heard 5 years was a good time to upgrade somewhere. Thanks!

Back up your data and replace it when it fails. You could get another 10 years out of it. You should have a backup regardless.

Sounds good, thanks. One more reason to finally set up the home server I've been pondering.
