SP uses an Army/Muster die to recruit a Regular in each Isengard Settlement. FP Passes. SP uses an Army/Muster die to replace two Regulars in Orthanc with Elites. FP Passes. Orthanc is more then three spaces away from the Balrog so Shadows Gather cannot be used to move its Army to Orthanc!

Unless Gutter Owl wants to reverse her moves: Character die: Balrog and co. to North Dunland. Event die: Shadows Gather to Orthanc (leave an orc behind in North Dunland). Character die: Balrog and co. to Fords of Isen.

You can use a Ring token to change a Character die to an Army die, move the Orthanc army to the Fords of Isen and the Balrog's army to North Dunland, use Shadows Gather to move the Balrog to Fords of Isen, then use the remaining Character die to attack Helm's Deep. Same result, but leaves you down a Ring.

SP uses a Character die to move the army in Orthanc to the Fords of Isen. FP now has six cards in hand; SP now has five cards. SP commits no dice to the Hunt. SP uses a Character die to attack Helm's Deep. FP retreats into siege. FP uses an Army/Muster die to recruit an Elite in Rivendell. SP uses a Card Draw die to draw a Strategy card. Since Elrond cannot be moved, and Elrond makes Elites in Rivendell Leaders only for the purposes of combat, FP cannot move the Elites in Rivendell to the Trollshaws with a Character die! FP Action dice: SP Action dice:  FP, Action or Pass?
