She can be, but she's also a Flight 5, and can just fall apart on you if you make a dumb move. And it's important to note, Tanis possesses a puppet before we pick our pairs (unless you're playing against Almighty Tanis).

It's Eligor (which answers why the Loki doll has anything to do with being "Valiant"). Nokomento's art for Tanis has the three dolls dressed in the fighters' clothing as well, but I wanted to keep them easily distinguishable from the actual characters.
