Cancelled: http://deadline.com/2014/11/selfie-cancelled-abc-1201277382/ I'm not surprised at all. Even with the abysmal ratings, the show maybe could've held on if the writing was stronger. I love John Cho and despite having never watcher Dr Who I think Karen Gillian is pretty good too, but the writing is so, so bad. The pilot was very uneven, and while the episodes since then have been on an upward trend the jokes are missing way more than they're hitting, the supporting characters have no depth, and the over-reliance on the "will they, wont they" romantic angle just seemed to drag the show down. Hopefully John Cho's character on Sleepy Hollow can be resurrected or something. Dude deserves a great leading role somewhere, but I'll take him as a solid secondary cast actor until that happens. Man, I just caught up on the last 2 episodes and really liked them a lot. The boss was one of my favorite new characters of the season. Hopefully John Cho can come back to Sleep Hollow. "Liiiiinda in redddd!"

Well, so much for the burn off, I guess it's just getting the one episode a week until it's over. Even MLS didn't get that treatment, it got replaced by Modern Family reruns. Hopefully Gillan tries comedy again, I thoroughly enjoyed her performance here.

I though John Cho was short, but it turns out he's 5'10". By comparison, Allison Miller is 4'11", Karen Gillan is 5'11"(!) and Kal Penn is 5'9".

This was honestly my favorite episode of television in 2014 (just head of the thrilling HTGAWM pilot). It's really a shame that this show didn't find its audience (probably owing to the rough first couple of eps), and also that if you watched this episode in isolation you won't appreciate how heart-breaking a moment it is and how masterfully they built to it. It's funny because I could easily see someone tuning in to the pilot or so and going "oh a shallow millenial and a stick in the mud, wonder if they'll get together in the end  " but it turns out they were playing a long game. Not that the two are entirely mutually exclusive but it's turned into so much of a better show than I ever expected.Henry singing "Wild World" a capella in the tag hit just as hard as "Chandelier" for me.
