Yeah the idea of dudes yammering over a 30-60 minute unedited gameplay video was pretty novel in 2009, not so much today when youtube is flooded with them. GB was a novel transition and in some way stuck between two eras and two business models, one of the traditional games media glancing over all games under the sun, and the twitch streamers of today. I remember reading a question someone sent Jeff like 6 years ago, asking if there was a way he could somehow give *more money* to the site in support. To which the answer was "buy merch and don't use adblock I guess?" Not saying the solution is to accept TTS donations or just become twitch streamers, but maybe some sort of evolution in their pricing structure in the past decade would have been needed. I knew their output got hampered by the pandemic, but I was really hoping to see them all back in the studio again. Man. It was just over a year ago on UPF when CBS texted Jeff during the stream saying that someone in the building tested positive for covid, forget coming back on Monday.

not having to do corporate staffing or fighting for positions to be filled seems like a good enough reason. plus, they can do it at their own pace rather than crank out quick looks, and then do all that video archiving and uploading. or maybe they got tired of having their subscriber money go to another distant yet controlling overlord. Jeff's strapped to GB by contracts and owning it but yeah, get paid fellas

The man somehow makes going through garbage a fun & interesting thing to watch. And then the next thing he did was a stream with Rorie where he babbled nonstop 95% of the time and all my enthusiasm for nu GB drained away instantly

For real though I'm very happy that they decided to do something together. Just yesterday I was pretty bummed out thinking about how the Beastcast didn't exist anymore and how the Bombcast didn't scratch the same itch. If they can get Jeffy B to come in as the rotating chair I'll be a happy man
