Something that I thought but don't know if it will be true is that while Korra does kinda look like Opal because her hair is now short like Opal's was I have to wonder if Korra will be super slim like Opal as well, seeing as she spent at least a year or so in the wheelchair. Speaking of Young Justice I really hope that this time skip won't ruin what good will season 3 built up because the time skip in Young Justice kind of complicated things (or ruined, depending on who you talk to)

I honestly thought Bolin just sent her pictures to go along with his letter because he's that kind of guy

Well wasn't one of the points behind The Firelord and the Avatar to communicate to Zuko that his being drawn to Aang's side was not just because of "honour" but instead was predestined? Or something, I'm pretty sure Iroh said stuff about spirits during that conversation but I can't remember exact words. also Bongo Bill posted:I just assumed Meelo drew the pictures. This episode taught me that if anything Ikki takes after Aang and I am totally ok with that At first I thought she was just being a dumb kid blabbing to the soldiers, then it dawned on me that she was using them for information and bam, rescue. Too bad that we may not see any more Toph for the rest of the season unless she comes out of the swamp to help her daughters

but will it really? I mean we won't know until next week but according to the preview it looks like Kuvira is actually adjusted enough to understand that they can't just roll into Zaofu and destroy everything, she understands that doing that would show her as no different than Sozin, Ozai or Chang, a simple tyrant who only understands violence I think this will be interesting because up until now we've never really seen a head of state villain be this nuanced in TLA or Korra. But of course I understand that this could all be turned on my head as Suyin will not kowtow and then Kuvira will get to say something akin to "let the die be cast" and crush Zaofu to dust. However, like others are hypothesizing this could be what changes Bolin's disposition and he will see that while he was bringing balance and stability with Kuvira at the start of their crusade, it has long gone off the rails and he doesn't agree with her anymore

Well that episode had a lot of setup and here's hoping that next week it will have a good payoff. I'm curious if Zhu Li is actually defecting or if this is all a ploy to stay near Varrick, we shall see where things go, since I doubt she would turn on him instantly after he saved her life but that's still just one area I honestly was curious if Mako was gonna show up while Asami was at the park but thankfully he didn't and she gets more autonomy as a character It was nice to see both Bolin and Korra do something different for a change, Bolin pieced things together and now he get's to learn the hard way about these "re-education camps" and Korra tried talking for once but I still feel like more could have been accomplished there. You'd think all that time with Katara and Toph (Toph especially) would've given her some better ideas for how to use words but eh, she's new at this. Still, I guess this episode takes what I had said in my previous posts and turns them on my head

especially with Zaheer saying that Korra's power is limitless when she's using the Avatar State. Hell in season 1 Yakone had every dead to rights with his psychic bloodbending until Aang went AS and completely wrecked him. It was stated in the season 1 thread for Korra and it remains the same, complete conscious access to the Avatar State is an I Win button. Also regarding AtLA, which episode introduced Aang's spinning marble trick?

my friend and I came to the conclusion that enjoying (or at least not skipping on rewatches) Appa's Lost Days can depend on how much you like dogs or if you ever had a pet, sort of like the people that get choked up at the end of Jurassic Bark. I mean it's not a perfect analogy since I've never had a pet but Appa's Lost Days is one of my favourite episodes

hot drat that was an amazing finale The fight scenes, the dialogues, everything was just fantastic. I mean I never got to see TLA when it was airing so watching that finale didn't have the same punch as this one that the series was finally over. I can't wait to get all of my friends back on board since the series is over so they're more inclined to watch it as it is finished and that I can definitively say that it got better after season 1. I, like others here, was kind of relieved that they left the KorraxMako thing there with his "you can always count on me, Korra" and then Asami came along and I was like "awwww they're actually doing it " Someone was expressing their feelings for Bolin officiating but really he spent the past 3 years AND MORE with both Varrick and Zhu Li, if anyone knows more about those two it's a character we have never met. That and we got more flashy talk, which Bolin has always had a...talent for. I liked it, but then I've always liked Bolin, too bad we didn't get anything final between him and Opal but I guess that happened after Operation Beifong

I'm still curious why some people are saying this makes Korra and Asami bisexual. Just because they both dated (a) guy(s) before this doesn't mean they are still interested in them. My sister used to date guys when she was a teenager but then she realised that she wasn't interested in them and was interested in girls, she would never claim to be bisexual and I think the same holds true here for our couple of ladies. Haha, one of my friends, who stopped watching the show the episode before the pro-bending championship, told me that she would only be interested in continuing if Korrasami was a thing. I kind of don't want to spoil it for her (although I did say that a same-sex relationship develops over the series) and I am honestly surprised that she immediately thought it would be those two since they're both chasing Mako, as far as she knows. People can definitely read things long before anything is written

BrianWilly posted:The thing is that, unless these characters label themselves otherwise, it's simply less problematic to assume that they still like men. This holds true for real life as well. Bisexual erasure is a weird, prominent problem in media and culture, where they're labeled by both straight and gay people as "gay but wanting to pretend otherwise" or "just experimenting" and so forth, or that you're straight if currently dating the opposite gender and gay if you're dating the same gender, when absolutely none of that might be the case. It's totally likely that gay folks would date people of the opposite gender before realizing that they're gay (I mean, what, are folks gonna start off dating people of the same gender before realizing they're straight? ), and it's just as likely that some folks find that they're attracted to both genders regardless of whichever one they're currently dating. Without any further information about Korra and Asami right now, it's just more appropriate to assume that they're still into guys because, like, why wouldn't they be? Alright I can understand that reasoning and I'll just say that my reasoning just goes back to my personal experiences. I already mentioned my sister but another friend I have has always been gay and I asked him if her ever liked girls and he told me that he never did, he always had an attraction to boys/guys. Likewise I will admit that I am personally hesitant for using a label like bisexual because my personal experiences with people who label themselves as such aren't people interested in exploring their sexuality but are more doing it for attention. tl;dr I personally don't like labeling Korra and Asami as bisexual characters because, to me, that feels more attention seeky than just saying "yeah, we're gay, no biggie" but if other people want to label them as such, I won't argue if they back it up

people were talking about the end theme earlier and I gotta say I actually like sitting through the credits for Korra, whereas I could never stand the end credits for TLA. Actually I didn't mind that theme for most of Book 1 but by the time they got to the Northern Water Tribe I was kinda done with that theme, especially for the latter part of Earth and definitely for Fire. Korra's end theme, on the other hand, was always really soothing and was always either something to reassure you at the end of episodes and a way to make you go at the end of pretty much every other episode. I only really noticed it this season since I actually decided to listen till the end more than I had in previous times. Considering the themes explored through this season it was always good to listen to the end credits because sometimes it would make me think "it's ok, there will always be next week, just listen to the music" or like with the finale I would be like "awwwwwww this is the best way to end the series, credit line and all" It would be grand if the series OST would get a release, but we all think that about TLA as well and, yeah
