That looks quite... :pcgaming:. Know if it works ok for just plain touch typing on iPad or does it seem more tailored to two thumbs?

On iPad it's tougher to use because my hands aren't big enough, but it does have a way to shrink and move the keyboard to the right or left so you can swipe type one-handed, which is cool.

For the phone I am finding it easier to use with some practice, but in my opinion there is a pretty steep learning curve.

I do think it's one of those things which will completely change the way I type over time though.

Also, Nintype keyboard just got an update that squashed a lot of bugs and made it even faster and better. Also, if you're jailbroken there's a cool tweak called NinKeyboardMoreMem that is able to allocate more memory to third-party keyboards which basically solves almost every issue with their unreliability in iOS 8.1.2.

I mean, like, your authorized device breaks and you have to log into your 1Password. 1Pass needs an authenticator code. Your authenticator codes are generated by 1Pass, which you need a code to log into, so now you're locked out by this recursive circle of security.

I mean, it's perfect, like PassHole, because not even you can get your passwords, but isn't that a problem at all? Do you just use your phone number to get a code from 1Pass?

I don't understand. 1Pass uses a password to authenticate, but it doesn't have two-factor authentication. You simply store your two-factor auth in 1Pass, for all other sites that do use it.

Edit: wait, do you mean what if you have to log into DropBox to access 1Pass, but you can't because your auth token for DropBox is in 1Pass? In that case I hope you wrote down the code to access your DropBox account if you can't access your device that generates tokens.

Right. In theory with 1Pass your data are locked behind DropBox or iCloud, which themselves are protected using strong passwords and two-factor auth, before you can even get to your 1Pass data which is protected with another password.

Purify is loving dumb. Blocks Facebook logins (and subsequently breaks any site that you can login using Facebook, like Fatsecret, Feedly, etc.) Blocks links from Slickdeals (probably because there's referral/tracking info in them), even blocks legit sites like Staples that I do business on regularly.

Also, 1Blocker has a "block trackers" setting that breaks Ebay and Paypal.

Like, I get that Facebook, Ebay, and Paypal are shitlord sites run by assholes. But they're also sites that LOTS of people use, and this kind of breakage should not have passed notice for the people curating the block lists.

Finally, the free Safari Blocker's lists work amazingly and haven't broken any site I regularly use yet. I did notice though that it doesn't seem to whitelist sites correctly yet. For example, if you download shutup.css and enable it, Reddit comments get broken, and whitelisting Reddit doesn't stop the comments from breaking. I'm sure the dev will fix it, however.

Whitelisting Facebook then allows all of the ads and trackers that you'd want to block in the first place. And the Facebook app collects insane amounts of data, right down to your location when you're browsing, swipes you make and duration of time you looked at each post. Seems like a pretty reasonable request to allow logins to Facebook, yet block some or most of the ads and tracking that happens to you.

Reddit on desktop isn’t bad for the 4 subreddits I read regularly. I use an app to browse it on my iPhone, but on iPad it’s perfectly fine to browse the site.

I tweeted the dev of Safari Blocker to let them know the whitelisting isn’t working. We’ll see if it’s a bug or not.

Finally, to everyone who is recommending just use the app, there are good reasons not to use the app on some cases. For example, the Facebook website (mobile and full) let’s me send messages. The app requires me to download messenger.

I’d rather just use the website. But overzealous content blocked are messing that all up.

Yes. I’m an avid Nin user and while on 8.4 there were jailbreak tweaks that could allocate Nin more memory to stave off crashes, even with those tweaks Nin was never as stable as it has been in 9.0.1 with a 6s+.

9.0.1 is also much better about restarting the keyboard if it does crash, so while there’s an occasional 1s delay while Nin restarts itself, it’s much better than iOS 8 where Nin would crash and iOS would be unable to restart the keyboard, necessitating force closing the app you were in and pulling down spotlight to reload the keyboard, then going back to the app you were using.

One compelling reason to stay on TB3: when browsing webviews TB3 lets you swipe from screen edge left to right to go back to your tweets. TB4 makes you push the “back to” at screen top left, which is hard to reach on a 6s+. Using reachability to get to it is just slow.

Obviously TB3 doesn’t benefit from ad blocking, but I prefer the swipe back behavior over seeing an occasional ad, personally.

Also, I think when iOS 9 is jailbroken someone will be able to code a tweak to replace all webviews with the iOS 9-type views.
