Went and somewhat redid the ghoul thing without outlines: Not sure which one looks better but I keep telling myself I'll start practicing drawing without doing those hard outlines. Could definitely use some feedback.

A background for a character I'm drawing. It's not quite finished, I feel like I should go back over some of those flat areas that I haven't textured. The middle is because the figure is going to cover it

Few more eyes, plus some manga eyes for good measure: And some arms, which were pretty fun to do, so I'm probably going to do some more comprehensive muscle anatomy tomorrow. Who knew buff naked men could be so interesting?

I'm really prone to overworking sketches too. When working digitally I try to knock it back a bit towards the end and put emphasis in the areas where there is volume overlap. No overlap? Tone it down. Went over your dude to show what I do sometimes, and I started out by fixing some anatomy stuff and kinda ended up changing the whole dude. (Eyes go halfway up on the head, measure carefully!) E: And simplify the hair even more! E2: Good example of no overlap: the closest cheekbone. noggut fucked around with this message at 19:45 on Oct 10, 2014 |

(Eyes go halfway up on the head, measure carefully!) Thanks, I do indeed need to work on my facial anatomy some more. It's odd, it comes and goes. But still, apart from being confident and happy, that was pretty much what I was aiming for! Also, I shall attempt much simpler hair (It's one of those "consistent style" things, so I suspect only practice will make perfect there. ), so many thanks for that!

Inktober? Pfft that's basically all I work in! There's a lot of good stuff going on in this thread. I'm down for interesting locales, and since I wasn't busy at work this weekend I got a chance to draw a few more doodles. That has nothing to do with Halloween even though it looks like it! It's actually Jack Pumpkinhead from the land of Oz. You see, pumpkins don't last forever. Every time his head rots, he gives it a proper burial after carving out a new one. RIP Jack's latest head. ----------------
