when i was a kid my dad briefly took interest in video games and i was playing something on the genesis and asked if he could play with me and i said "sure, when i die"

there was a long pause and he was like "thats not very nice"

it took me a sec to realize he thought i was being literal and not talking about the expenditure of all available lives (the correct answer) but by then it was too late
