An enemy too tough to be normal but too lovely to be a real boss. Like Bowser in every Mario game is a midboss while Bowser Jr. is the real boss.

(non-parry) gwyn is arguably harder in the sense that he gives you less leeway to estus up, in contrast artorias has a bunch of pauses in his routine

Also he wasn't as epic a climax as O+S were, they were fought in a giant cathedral with epic music playing at the very end of the only well light area in the game. They were massive, there were two of them and if you kill one then the other gets super-charged. That's all poo poo that the last boss should be and makes all the subsequent bosses feel like a let down since none of them are as hard or as epic.

All the midbosses in Metroid history own. The one in Fusion that just drops the gently caress in on you out of nowhere and is like the hardest fight in the game, in particular. (Googling finds it's called "Security Robot B.O.X.")

Does the SA-X count as Fusion's end-boss or Metroid Omega? Cuz the SA-X was a legit end boss but Omega was a dumb poo poo from know where that was easy.

i got ripped as gently caress on concerta when i was between jobs and played dark souls for like 17 hours in a mission to beat it and i was stuck on gwyn for like 3 hours at least, no other boss in the game took me even near as close of an amount of time. he didnt really seem hard though, i never got really frustrated, i just soldiered on and ran back. i think other bosses are harder i guess even though i beat them more quickly?

SA-X is more of a proper boss fight since there's multiple phases and attacks you have to watch out for. the omega metroid is basically just a giant stack of hp you go super saiyan on like in super metroid when you got the hyper beam.
